its kinda working, i dont think its very acurate, as when i stopped at a round about it said i was doing 30 mph, so something not right there.

new 1275 metro engine turned up today

so i started stripping ti for the block which i need, and all i can say is im glad i dotn need the gear box as i had to use my angle grinder to get the block away from the box, was a night mare.

the engine is seized as well, but the crank looks ok, gonna take the crank out and look at the bearings tomorrow and see if i have a spare crank or not if i do ill grease it up and put it in a black back on the shelf :)

more pics tomorrow with the updates

Nice rubber!! are they as long lasting as the A539's.? Do you know how many miles you will get from them. So far ive put 3000 onto my 539's and they still have about half the tread left. But i do like the look of those tyres.

I find there pritty good acturally, I get a years worth of drivng out of them, I just keep making sure I swap the backs to the front and the frogs to the back every now and again just so there wearing even. I've got a spare set in m gaage which are almost bold but they still have so much grip so they will be my track tyres :D

right been thinkign of what am i going to do with my mini.

ive decided:

going to strip it to a bare shell and treat the rust which is gettign worse, and i also need to do soemthign about the paint, as its quite litrely falling of in places.

decided on black tulip as the new colour, and if im stripping it down propperly i might as well give every thing a strip down and fresh coat of paint.

ive got a spare set of subframes which im gonna clean up and paint ready to go on to the car, and then ill just have to transfer radias arms and stuff like that over

but im prob not gonna start this till after july as im doing the help for heroes mini run. not gonna miss that

right way h4h mini run is the next show im goign to and a i have a month to get my mini sorted and ready for the long trip.

and i have a list as long as my arm in things i need to do to get the car ready

got to sort the timming issue out on my 998, it has to be the dizzy i just cant get it any were near it needs to be, its doing my tits in.

its so reluctent to start but once its starts its fine, but its got no top end at all. even for a 998. it get to a certian part and then just splutters.

my interia atm consits of 1 seat and a harness, so not ver practical for a long trip,
my speedo doesnt work
fuela gauge doesnt work
temp guage doesnt work
interia lights dont work
rev counter doesnt work
and my radio has stopped working

and thats just the things i can remmber

so i think i need to take a look at my wiring lol.

gonna put it in the car club in a mini and get it up in the air with the wheels of and give everythign a good going over.

but on the plus side ive found somewere to store it to stop it getting wet :(

weve had a massive like dry stores conatiner dropped of out side my submarine for all our spare galley equipment, but the container is massive and our equipment hardly takes up any room so im storing the car in there as well during the week ahaha, its brilliant

It would stay nice and dry inside your boat. Im guessing it would be quite bad if that spung a leak. LOL. Possibly your coil or HT leads breaking down at higher revs. Maybe the plugs.

brand new coil and leads, and teh dizzy is that only thing i know thats moved, i had a little play tongith and made it worse lol

well i wouldnt say my submarine is water tight, ive been at sea and still go wet from walking under hatches :(

im gonna go to the local rolling road and just tell them to set the dizzy timming, once thats done and spot on if it turns out to be leads or coil, ill change them and fingers crossed.

i lowered the mini tonight got it filling out the arches a bit more.

but i have noticed lower engine mounts are lose so im gonna do them tomorrow, im also gonna start prepping the passenger floor pan for welding

well today i decided the poor mini need soome love

so i tuck it for a rollign road and power run,

and first run i got 19 bhp ahaha

so that explains why it isnt very fast

2nd run 21bhp, getting there

3rd run 31.9 bhp
getting better

4th run 39bhp

5th run gave me 42.1 bhp

and the final run gave me 43.1 bhp.

im really happy with that

so doubbled the power in the car, money well spent i reckon

:)

ive also returned my interia to standard, i for got how high you sit in those mini seats its unreal lol

its comfy though, and the road round cornwall arent sutable for hard susspension and bucket seats with no padding, and when you combine that with a long drive its to uncomfortable.

progress is supper slow atm :/

for the first time in maybe 2 years i have to work ever day next week from 8 till 4
which sucks
dont ussualy work past 12 and i only normally do maybe 3 days, ahh well
not all bad as week after im only working 1 day and then im thinned out for the weekend.

so im gonna get the new block striped painted and up to pual inch for the work to be done, ive got soem one else local whos gonna rolling road the car now, so all is good :o

just changed my speedo cable as teh old one was hanging and was sticking when i was driving, but what a pain it was as the tappets brether gets in the way so makes it so much hard work, so if youve not got stick thin arms your stuffed, i had to come at it from underneathe, and because ive lowered my mini, that was apain in the ass, i also managed to get my whole armc overed in grease.

but i still need to fill the mini back up with water as i drained it and re fit my speedo :)
