yeah will get it sorted for you, argh

just want to crack on with it now, ive managed to swap my massive 2 in staniless steel fletcher exhaust and down pipe for a manflow exhaust system, so that should help with performance

gonna go collect in the morning when i get up

Right 3 pistons are in and bolted in, and it won't turn over no matter how much I try, it's so tight it's unreal,

So I'm gonna have to strip it back down and double check every thing I try again.

And the reason only 3 pistons are in is because I noticed that the oil seal on he last piston is poop
Looks like it's been crunched against something, and I have no idea were to find one, I tried minispares website but couldn't see anything

I need a +20 1275 piston oil seal
And then hopefully I can get the block finished of,

Luther than that and just waiting to get my sc gear box back from being stripped and cleaned I'm ready to finish it and get it in the car,

Every things there and ready in the work shop at base.

Just feels like another set back.

I'm going up to see pual inch tomorrow see if he has one I can use for the piston so I can at least get the short block built up and done
Only dropped my gearbox of today butbhe was pretty sure it would be ready by Friday :-

He's got to be the best machine shop guy I know, he's not to expensive and he's supper fast and the quality of his work is WOW its tip top

And with the engine being built I've decided run it in locally and get the bearings set in and then it's of to London on a trailer to Peter baldwins rolling road and set up

Not that any one cares lol
I'll keep posting to keep my self amused

BOOM

Crank fitted and it spins nicely :)

Although fit pistons and it doesn't spin

Arch 2 steps forward 3 steps back

I will get it sorted even if it kills me

Guess what I solved the problem of why mu crank won't spin with the pistons on

Bad news is that my crank is good enough for the bin :/

Wrong bearings and it's left groves in the crank

So not in the best mood.

But does any one know what size a standard crank is I,e the journals

As I think I have a completely stanadard 1275 crank which hasn't had any work done to it, but I need to know what bearings to get it

BOOM!!

Got my mits on a standard cooper s 1275 crank in perfect condition

And it cost me a whole. £0

Lucky or what

Right gonna phone mini spares monday and order my complete gasket set as well as new bearings, the correct ones.
Gear box is finished so I'll collect that this week

In a slightly better mood about the whole engine build which is good

right im being given nearly 2 weeks leave,

now im undecided if i jsut leave my engine in bits and not bother, or do i push for it and try and get the engine built and in the car before the 22 which is when i go back to work and the day before i go to sea?

id say you may aswell give it a push, at least then machined components wont suffer surface rust (as long as things are plugged) plus theres always that you wont have much to do when you return
