Ah thats a shame! :trooper:

Maybe it is cheaper to just buy a rear panel and swap it over?

Yes, but I would still need it to be pulled out ;)

Neah, you'd cut it out then weld the new one in! :trooper:

as tjenkos has said, you would just cut the damaged piece out and weld a new 1 in.

Oh, right ok...

I could, but it still woudn't be right and it also wouldn't fit. This is because the drivers side rear panel is creased, and therefore it all needs pulling back, so the crease pulls out

I think the subframe is ok, it was new on before the accident and doesnt seem to be damaged...

How badly creased is it? It might come out easily when the rear and bits are off.

Yeah you can see where the impact has stopped. Just past the rear lights.
Id:
cut out the back panel,
see if the other creased panels can be bashed back
If they cant be bashed back, cut them out and weld new metal in.

if you pull something back that has been damaged, it will never be as strong as it should be due to the damage.

If things are damaged you should really replace them to be safe. If you are replacing the panels, there is no need to have to pull any of the panels back to their original shape, as you would just be cutting them out anyway.

Got a quote!

I've got a quote now, for the rear to be pulled out on the Mini, from J & R motors, Birkenhead.

The quote is...wait for it... £600 :-

What I need to do is buy a new full rear panel assembley (like you say) Ive got a boot ^^ *See above posts* ,need to buy a new valance and bumper, and the guy at the garage will do it for me, all of it including spraying. The cost is too much really, so I think I'm just getting him to pull out the rear, fit the complete new panel and valance, and I will do the rest ie fitting boot and spraying it etc.

Sooo...ye :D GOT A QUOTE! :(

I don't think its a "rip off". Its a fair bit of work to do properly, and would take quite a while I expect.
