These stickers don't really offend me but always make me cringe at the message it sends out to other motorists and the general public about the mentality of some Mini owners........ :)

By the way the designer of the Mini, Alec Issigonis was born in Smyrna (now Izmir) Turkey had a father of Greek origin, a mother of German origin and his nephew was Bernd Pischetsrieder the German BMW Chairman who gave Rover the go ahead and finance to design the New MINI............... :)

I can see it isn't a major issue at all and is a funny sticker- what I cant see is how the OP and several others cant seem to understand that swearing is generally not acceptable in public places! Do you walk around swearing in the street where people and children can hear you, or job interviews etc as someone else has said? If not then the only reason possible can be- because you know it isn't right!

A single asterix in the swear word would please the cops, we will all know what it means and probably find it funny, and far less people would find it offensive, maybe you don't quite have enough grey matter to understand words when they have a censored mark through them?!!

I'm doing 4 A levels and have 4 offers from Good Universities to start in september, to study Biology! So, God help anybody with less brain matter. I am not being cocky, but you pushed it

You should know better then!

You won't get far with your attitude.

Rules are rules no matter how highly you regard any possible consequences. I sense you don't like or respect authority for some reason. If the police have advised you that it is not allowed, accept it and stop rebelling. You will find as you get older you can't fight the world and win, or if you chose to fight make sure its worth your ttime and efffort and not about something you could corrrect in seconds with a marker pen!!!!!!

You asked for opinion and disagreed with everyone who has given an opinion that you don't like, so why did you post it?

I think the thread has ran its course now too.

The officer used his discression and gave you a bit of advice rather than giving you a fine on the spot!

He probably did all sorts of checks on your insurance etc before stopping you!

However you see the sticker doesn't matter, it's how the officer interprets the law!

If you get stopped for it again by the same officer (or another) you could be looking at an £80 penalty notice for disorder and a criminal record!

They may also go over your car with a fine tooth comb!

I do not agree with what is on the sticker i think as a modern car the BMW MINI is great and is one of the few everyday cars that stands out from the crowd "it is a future classic".
I think stickers like that are pretty much childish same as the football ones where they are urinating on another clubs football shirt BUT having said all that i do think the Police man must have been bored and was being a jobsworth.
