well, did all and tried all, no luck and not willing to wait on them nuggets (although I will get a set), so went to see the "mini professor" near were I live, He spend 2 hours on it and eventually he had to drill it out carefully, and told me off. I won't do that again,..... all good now, ordered parts again from minispares to have a second attempt. I will change oil to as that is needed now I feel.

yesterday I started changing the oil,emptied it and turned the engine over twice..............3000 miles and oil was like black treacle, left it overnight to drupe out, oil filter well,......not much oil in there but a lot of gunk... I suppose that is the reason for having one. nicely filled up again tonight and a new filter. Minisport had front drum backplates on a sale so for that price I went for it, and changed those tonight to, no more messing with adjusting front brakes for a while now!
Now waiting for minispares to drop of some parts for the oil pressure gauge,and we are nearly ready for Bingley. Don't know what to expect there as this is my first time there. Might see a few mini's.....

managed to get the t-piece and fitted in the block without braking this time, connected braided hose, and oil pressure sensor, and all good, reads 55 on idle, give him a run tomorrow and see what other figures it trows at me, and checking for the famous oil leaks.
I need to adjust the points to tomorrow and that should be it,.....ready for Bingley

that connectors are you using for the brakes??

hi, sorry I might have not been clear enough, the t-piece connection elbow is for the oil pressure gauge,....I did brake the last one by over-tightening into the block.

A few test drives today, oil pressure when engine is warm, on idle it reads 28psi and on 50miles+ 70psi. I am happy with that, only the t-piece needs one more full turn into the block, showing a little wet oil but nout to serious.
Points checked and all good, bit colourtuning at some point this week and fettle with carb.

Today Muk's dizzy, points not good, set on 0.012 revving yes but no push and not enough fuel to justify the noise, went silly,.. can't have that before Bingley, took it of, and gave it the once over,

its a 59D4 from 1981, so battered a bit I guess;


needs a good clean


stuck it back in again and gave it a run, all good but don't get high enough revs, will have to set points to 0.014 or 0.013.thats tmr

have a bit of a problem with higher rpm, engine starting to judder lightly and still can't get passed the 53mph, timing set again, fuel CO2 sorted out again, no blockages either,..condensor,points all good, coil checked is 3ish Ohm resistance power to coil is 11.74V when set key on run (settin 2 on switch), alternator charges 14.5V when engine running,It is quit a drop from 13.75V to 11.74, could be the clock or even could be a power leak somewhere, maybe at the just fitted gauges,...and still at ift for the last 4 days eliminating all possibilities

will take fuses out one by one and see if engine runs better,without that circuit then I should be able to pinpoint it further ,...I hope >_<
