i got all my panels from mini spares, i have now bought so much from there i have an account and get a 7.5% discount top stuff.

i did somewhere along the line forget to buy a rear valaence so i will need to sort one out along with a door step too.

i had my mate adam round today and we have got quite alot done, ad has been doing loads of grinding and neatening up of panle edges while i was drilling out the remaining spot welds, i did end up buying a new scuttle and i was glad because it was quite rusty when i took it off.

the car is now sitting on a set of 10" wellers because we got bored!

here is a couple of pics of the scuttle edge removed, one of adam inside the car and one of me

yeah i plan to keep this going and show it at every stage, its useful for myself to see what was done when and it makes me want to go out and work on it more.

the shell is not looking in too bad shape just need to learn how to weld now!

how did you remove the scuttle panel??
iv read that you drilled the spot welds out but in one the close up picture of the innerwing area i see no drill holes???

i used a few tools to get it off. i angle ginded the worst of it off(dont got to deep like i did and cut through the panel below) the i used a spot weld drill to get rid of the left over edge and a hammer and chisel to go round difficult parts, and finish with angle grinder on edge.

not much has been done as i have been in france over the weekend, while i was waiting for the train i brought track and race cars magazine and it has inspired me to try and do a few track mods, i am going to try and fabricate an aluminium diffuser that will close off the rear subframe and come up around the rear valence, something like what is on a lotus exige, i have only ever seen this on a couple off minis before and i think if done right it will look stunning.

looking good MOWOG! Can I just ask how you went about getting the account with Minispares? I think I've spent around £4k with them over the last 3 years, I wonder if I'd get a similar sort of thing...
