nope. if you look on the third picture, you will see a hose with a jubliee clip on it, that is the return from the turbo which is also used for the mechanical fuel pump.

update time

bought a new radiator from minspares. have a problem with the old heater matrix, so had to bypass it to the head. got her running again, she sounds even better with the new exhaust on. due to hearing about a few people who have had people run into the back of them, and also due to the poor light out put of the rear lights, i have put a 3rd high level led brakelight on my car, to let the old dear behind me know when i am breaking. spent a few hours wiring in the electro luminescent dials and gauges, and have wired the wipers in. it will be like spagetti junction behind my dash when i'm finished.

this should be what my engine bay should finally look like bar the coolant hose going over the engine

got the old beast running again today, thought i'd have a bash at fine tuning the carb again with thy trusty colourtune. still not right. its running way too rich than it should, and thats with it adjusted in to lean! so i'm going to have to find a rolling road very close to home! apart from appreciating the burbling sound from the exhaust, decied to crack on with fitting the brightwork to the car. looking more promising everyday! also got some ice white bulbs, they have a blue tint on the glass to help them shine white, along with the xenon gas. what i wasn't expecting was for them to give the headlamps a nice blue tint in day light, look pretty cool i think.

oh and if i leave the car running enough to get hot the lefthand headlamp steams up

the gauges are electro luminescent, bought off someone from here a while ago. he did a few sets, don't know if hes sold them all. the great time about the is the whole back facia lights up at night so you can actually see what your engine is doing at night!

apart from keeping it nice and shiny this weekend, i bodged up a washer bottle. the original was too big to fit in the wheel arch, so this substitute shall do nicely.

ta peeps, due otr probabily end of september, october time. it seems i keep pushing the date back (i only originally intended having the mini off the road for 1 year! and its coming close to 2) but it shouldn't be too long. only have harnesses, passanger seat, dash and steering wheel to get (i think). i've got some smalll bodywork bits coming and a clifford g5 arrow on its way (shall be fun to fit!).

indeed i'm on the wirral, be nice to see some of yours too.

today spent a little time sorting out, my leaking master cylinder. it had a small leak into the booster, so bought a master cylinder seal kit from minispares and fitted it today. just have to bleed the brakes (again) tomorrow.

my era turbo bonnet scoop arrive from the one and only smudger. top quality stuff as usual, it's a bit murky in some places (where the gel coat is pretty thick) but otherwise superb. spent no time messing around and got the dremel out. i've decided to fit this under the bonnet rather than on top, just for a smoother look. bonded it on first, and have fiberglassed over the underneath. i got some sort of body/seam sealer from work, which is poo hot, so the black on the scoop is that, but i'll clean it up when its cured.

also have watched my bonnet pins slowly corrode on the front, i thought i use some of those aerocatches again. i bought the ones that fit on top, rather than flush just to save on more bodywork, work. got them test fitted and shall spray them tomorrow.
