My experience of Hill climbs and sprints are that the 16V boys rule the roost..or 7 and 8 port heads all on 1380's with no fan, water pump or alternator.. So if you want to be competetive in the 1400 class then you might want to rethink your engine bay...but if its just for a bit of fun then you have chosen the right sport...I love hill climbs...
yeah i have seen them, im talking more about little groups of people that have mildly tuned cars doing runs, not fully blown racers XP the real aim is to go out to france when its done and compete in the village we have a house in, its in the pyrenees and they do a hillclimb every year. from f1 looking cars to little fiat 126's

I love this mini! oh and ill let you know about the exhaust on Monday after I call Maniflow matey
cheers, as do i like yours, its brilliant, im thinking of painting my mk3 the colour yours is in, but with a white roof

Those cans & the sign are very cool! Where did you pick the sign up from?

sign was on my dads garage, along with a very old shell petrol pump, with the light up globe. that globe is now a light in my room

what do you mean? into the engine bay ? i have got the brake and fuel lines running in to the engine bay just underneath where the LHD brake and clutch master cylinder plate is, with grommets. the brake line then goes left past the manifold then up to the mater cylinder. i have covered the brake line with heat reflective tape to stop the brake fluid boiling :)
yeah, its been one step forward, then one back. i pulled the crank and pistons out of the engine yesterday, im going to get the crank hardened, but i think i have just secured a much better crank for a good price, so watch this space
and im sending the con rods off to be checked over, as i have modifed them myself, i was getting a bit doubtful, so wanted MED to check them out. better safe than sorry!

was away a fair few weekends racing, well, not my self, but being a race technician
managed to pull off a 3rd and a 2nd at Spa summer classic, raced a fluorescent mini! then a 1st at thruxton:P

back to the mini 8)
hunky new ( to me at least) MED crank, cross drilled and the other bells and dongles

then to drop it into this, which is ready for engine!

should have it bolted in and a short block by the end of the weekend, finally accumulated enough parts to do so!
