I think all internall combustion engines are pretty much the same, apart from the wankle of course. Once you understand the basic principals of whats going on you should be able to tackle pretty much any engine. From and A+ to a lambo V12... Its all the same..

I wish someone would give me a lambo V12 to play with..

That's a nice electric pump. Just fit it onto the rear seat base near the rear-sub-frame LH side. I always just bolt up through the seat base panel. Make sure it has a good earth.
One tip is to fit a hidden petrol pump switch to make the vehicle more secure. I put it up under the front parcel shelf with a bit of trim covering it, but it can go anywhere like under the seat, or on a panel marked as a spotlight switch, you choose.

I always run twin Facit pumps on my rally cars, individually switched, so that my fuel system is 'fail-safe'. If one pump fails I just switch the second one on and for special stages I rum with both pumps on. Of course, I have a fuel pressure regulator valve just before the twin carbs.
As an aside, I'm always proud of the fact that I worked on the design of the droop-nose of the Concorde when I was young.

No, I never got the chance. It was a fantastic project and in mechanical engineering terms it was real cutting-edge stuff.
All my flying now is in sailplanes which is a beautiful sport.
Taking my Grandson's fully restored MPI for MoT tomorrow morning. He's 17 in 4 weeks time and can't wait to get driving his beautiful Mini.

I bet it was it's just a pity they mothballed them, and your gradson is a very lucky boy, just tell him to drive carefully, i know you will have, just make sure he takes note

I normally use Loctite Bearing Lock to retain the core plugs, oil and water, although it's not strictly necessary. A drop of ordinary Loctite should work just as well really.
Make sure the oil galleries are scrupulously clean. Wash them out with paraffin and pull through bits of paraffin-soaked rag dragged by a piece of coat-hanger wire straightened out with a small hook formed on one end. Keep doing it until the rag is completely clean, then just wash through with brake & clutch cleaner.
Similarly make sure everything else is very clean before assembling.
It sounds as though the job is going well. Great.
