Err...given that was filmed back in August/September, why has that mini that was abandoned in India, got a fresh tax disk on it and is still insured?

Dont you just love the DVLA, nice call! ITS NOT REAL!

My point is, I'm surprised they bothered to bring them back!

Tell you what I'd like to to have that mini and put it on ebay noting its history, can you imagine the kudos at the shows in the summer! Good as a magazine feature car? better I say does it really need much more than any other in need of resto? I'd have it without a question of a doubt!

It wouldn't surprise me if the presenters kept their cars.

Hammond kept/bought from the beeb that yellow Ferrari 308 GT4 he bought a few years ago and spent a fortune on restoring it. He sold later and certainly didn't get back what he would have spent.

A bit too scripted and staged which takes away alot of the spontaneity which i used to enjoy about top gear. None the less a good hour and half worth of entertainment.

felt it was a bit disrespectful sometimes: India a country which suffers from severe poverty and hunger and the three pillocks throwing food about at the start.

Oh and as for the mini, yeah they ripped the front end of it, who cares, certainly not me. I have seen worse modifications form some of our (TMF) past members :ohno:

Anyways what a wonderful show case for the wonderful little cars we love so much! I wouldnt be surprised if there is a slight increase in demand for minis now in the next weeks.

i dont know why people are complaining. chuck a flip front on it and it would be fine. the fact that the mini kept going was my favourite part. the car was never gonna be used again after that anyway. so destroying it doesnt make a difference. if you are offended by it then you are missing the whole point. it was a good episode and the mini did good. and all 3 of them said it was a good car. quit complaining and just enjoy it for what it is.

Top Gear is not really a car program anymore, as we all know. But it is just a victim of it's own success. The odd funny bit here, some banter there and then before you know it, it's not the same program. I don't really have a problem with that - it's entertaining and that's clearly evident from it's popularity.

The Mini getting battered isn't a real issue. At least we got to watch the mini on tv for a while. I also liked the big Jag.

While this episode was hilarious in places (Eat British Muff and sh.IT for your company!) I don't think it was as good as some of the specials I have seen. I like the episodes where they do tests and challenges, I would have liked to see a mini in am episode like that.

Overall, I've seen better but it was good. Now wondering what will become of the two minis on wheeler dealers tomorrow. And the Pug 205.

I havent watched it yet (been boozing with da neighbours and playing Dance 3 on the Wii >_< )....but as mini fans/addicts/weirdo's you have to look at it realistically.

It had a fab Cooper Sport on it which looked great, its going to up the classic mini's profile and boost prices in a poor market

Its a win win for all mini owners :D

at least Hamster had sence to remove the big comedy sports pack wheels and fit something that will make the mini handle better

I think the Mini should have been allowed to win the hill climb event without the 10 second penalty!

the episode was alright, but to be fair I think the mini got away quite light, when winching the rolls whilst anchored to the jag I was expecting some usual topgear car being pulled in two or subframe pulled off kind of thing. a bit of panel damage was far less than imagined :proud:

come on those moaning about food wastage, for the amount of cans that got thrown around, there was very little spillage, most of them would have been empty. They even sounded empty when Clarkson was lobbing them in the boot.

The way that front end peeled off it had obviously been designed to do that, the front panel was still intact so it could be driven.

In fact Hammonds mini had very little modifications to it. Suspect the roof may have a dent in it though :D

I thought as a TG special it was a bit pants, they could have done it a bit better. Only the hillclimb bit was good, the rest.....

Spookily enough las week I was following an XJS and thought thats quite cool. Then I thought thats quite sad, I must be 38 coming on 58... But they are actually quite cool now, or is it me?

Did anybody else notice they changed the front spotlight config on the mini?

It happened just before the scary night drive bit. It changed from the 4 in a row above the bumper to a 2 up 2 down ish config. Then in went back to the 4 in a row, even though they were supposedly on an unbroken journey. Continuity fella needs to be sacked.

It was exactly as i expected from Top Gear apart from the fact that they didn't destroy the Allegro!

That said, if they did, could I have first dibs on the headlights??? :D
