A little bit more than £10, but worth it........ EvoStik Flashband (Cheap alternative to sound deadening): -

Chris

How well does this stuff sound deaden? if it's, say, half the price of propper stuff, is it at least half as good?

In exactly the same as normal mass loading sound deadening. The catch, it's bitumen based so can be messy if it gets hot.

So if you're happy to risk the bitumen getting hot then you get £50+ stuff for £15? And is it just Evo Stik that has the good sound deadening properties or can you use cheaper flashing tape? and how stiff is the stuff? is it easy to work into the valleys in the floor and shape it around corners etc?

Never used it in a car so can't comment on it's sound deadening properties or suitablity but I have used it on a flat roof and it's very flexible if applied when it's warm. If fixing in colder weather you'll benefit from using with a primer to improve it's adhesive properties.

Pair of steering rack gaitors. Worth every penny if you haven't changed them in a while.

Nice little performance boost (little being the key word!) and slightly increased air flow amd costs virtually nothing...
