Jesus, It's been ages since I've posted here. Which as you guessed probably means NOTHING has really happend, well... You'd be correct on that one.

All thats really happened is a few little bits have gone on here and there when I've come home for the odd weekend or two.. But I managed to sell my old moped for a decent price to be able to buy 5 Tyres. so they'll be going on very soon. The carpets have arrived and tomorrow providing I have time I'll most likely send the seats of to be retrimmed as the seat bases have turned up. But another update totally unrelated to mini's! After 48 weeks of training, I passed out of Phase 1 training!

2 weeks off to play with the Mini ;)

Oh wow, it's been ages since I've worked on the Mini, especially with other things in the shed it's been awkward to do anything, so I had a go this morning to clear stuff out of the spare room

Finally put the bootlid on!

IMG_3289.jpg

Then the rest is pretty much self explanatory, sound deadening all round, handbrake in and part of the rear seat followed by the headlining.

The Devil is hiding behind her smile  sheeting.

So just after Christmas I took a trip over to DSN, Bought a few little bits, wheel nuts, rear light lenses, pedal rubbers etc etc.. 2 bumpers and 2 shock absorbers for the front.

IMG_3431.jpg

IMG_3432.jpg

So it was only right that they went on asap :proud:

IMG_3434.jpg

I know the nuts not tightened, I'm also considering getting the hub off and repainting it

I'll fit the rear bumper when we get the bootlid shimmed up a little.

So while I had the rusty old ratrod wheels off I thought I'd bleed the brakes, makes sense

Made a "wheely" quick trip to get the wheels

IMG_3436.jpg

And stuck them on followed by hubcaps.

IMG_3437.jpg

IMG_3440.jpg

IMG_3441.jpg

Was a quick 30 minute job but it looks so much better.

Tomorrows agenda: Drain pipes in the doors, have a go at putting some of the dash together, rear light lenses and the heater

So, remember the big to do list I had planned for yesterday? Yeah, I did pretty much none off it, too cold!

First off here's the first photo with the boot lid open that I've taken, the back end is really coming together so that's where most of my attention is at the moment

I Decided to go home as the garage was freezing and the rain was getting heavier and my Westminsters new whipers are as good as trying to mop a swimming pool when I walked passed the dipswitch - realising I'd put sound deadening over the holes :mmkay:

It's so close to being done it's stupid. I've cleaned and painted a few bits for the boot like the spare wheel holder and battery clamps - hopefully my dad will do some work as I'm heading back to London today so that's it for a week or so, Minispares isn't that far from my doorstep :shifty:

So, my dads done some work now that I'm back at camp. He's also working away so I don't see the point in coming home for a few weeks so updates won't be for a while, again. But, the back end is finished!

Starting to look the business now

IMG_3543.jpg

The front just wants a grill and mustache, the headlight surrounds are in aswell

IMG_3546.jpg

IMG_3547.jpg

If anyone was wondering, I put the old wheels back on the front incase the car needs to be wheeled around, and to set up the suspension without ruining the OEW wheels

Finally, the rest of the interior

Not alot has been done lately as I've not come home from camp for a while, my dads had a go and I took a few pictures this weekend, the front shockers are on and now it's on all 4's again, hopefully it'll be a loooong loooong time before it goes back onto axle stands again, My dads started to track it up so hopefully next weekend we can have a sneaky test drive :shifty:

Anyway, just fancy shots really

There'll be another update as I get knocked off early at 9 tomorrow so heading home for the weekend, dads been putting my carpets in and getting the front seats ready to go in, should take an hour or so to get sorted, then ill tidy the engine bay up, connect the heater up and get some water running through it and fire it up again :D

Well well well, it's been an eventful weekend ;D

The beast finally moved under it's own steam this weekend, admittedly only forward and back on the ramp but still, seeing it do that from the wreck we started with is really something.

Seats are in!

As are the carpets

Then we sprayed the rest of the bonnet pieces and put them on, so the temporary stay we was using didn't rattle away and decide to shut itself while it was running.
