I was gonna say that but thought better of it ;)

It'll be alright :P and the original colour is green so it had to be green, and once the dynamo and starter had been painted I couldn't change my mind >_<

Aha brilliant!

True, but not EVERYTHING was green   :D You could of tried the same thing you did with your hand..  dipped the whole engine in the paint. or better still, finish assembling the car and dip the whole lot...    Brilliant  :proud:

EDIT: Might want to mask off the windows first though

I was rather pissed that I had to clean them back to bare metal again :P

The shell might get a few runs that way though ;)

Passed my theory! :D Driving test is booked for 25th July :P

So, had a busy 2 days on the Mini, in reality it was a slow day and then a busy second day :P

Went down to the garage to do some other bits to a transit tipper so took a few shots..

Temp tyres have gone flat, looks so sad at times >_<

P6201376.jpg

P6201377.jpg

P6201380.jpg

Anyway, it's a terrible picture but we lost the the clutch pin thing, so we had to paint up another one and the spring for it,

P6201366.jpg

Bolted a few bits onto the engine

P6201363.jpg

Built the oil filter up

P6201369.jpg

Bolted more bits on

P6221383.jpg

P6221384.jpg

P6221385.jpg

Spark plugs too :P

P6221410.jpg

Then touched the nuts up, this is before the 2nd coat

P6221386.jpg
P6221387.jpg

P6221388.jpg

P6221389.jpg

Then it was time to move it, so moved it onto the trailer then into the van, to the garage, then used the crane there to get it out again

P6221391.jpg

P6221392.jpg
P6221394.jpg

P6221395.jpg

P6221397.jpg

More terrible pictures, but the drive shafts where put through

P6221399.jpg

P6221402.jpg

Then the difficult bit came..

P6221404.jpg

P6221405.jpg

P6221406.jpg

P6221407.jpg

P6221408.jpg

P6221409.jpg

Drivers side drive couplings where then put in

P6221414.jpg

and the ramp came down

You are doing nice looking work, but with a MK1 you should really have put the radiator onto the engine before you dropped it in, they are not the most fun things to fit in place!

Not a major update, but it's getting more car like features now, I've been at college all day, power went out while dad was in the middle of a job so he switched to Mini :P

Lights bowls are in, and the indicators :P The engine also looks quite nice with the engine poking through the grill hole

The connections make it look like it's crying :S

Always great when you get to that point where suddenly, loads of parts go on very quickly.

It is :P Got a few more bits to do yet though but it's suddenly picked up pace so I can't complain, one of the door handles is in but we ran out of time to get the other in, I'm hoping to put the boot lid on tomorrow after college

your getting close to the end now!

Thank goodness, my wallet can come out of hiding ;)

Few smallish updates, but not many pictures, the Camera doesn't seem to take very clear photos no more and wont focus unless your incredibly close to what you're photographing, I've took a couple photos with my tablet and I'll try putting the camera photos on tomorrow

II red oxided and painted a few bits last night, bracket and stabeliser stuff too, and that went on

20130628_170152.jpg

20130628_170128.jpg

Then the door handles went on, my tablet has no flash so it was hard to hold the torch and take a picture but I sorta did it, I've whiped the lens and a few other bits on the camera so maybe it'll focus tomorrow,  I only got pictures of the passenger door but the drivers door has been done too, however it needs a bit more aligning but nothing too serious, boot lid is going on tomorrow finally, kept putting that and the windows off which is now a good thing
