Made a bit of progress since the last update, still haven't had time or remembered to put the boot lid on >_<

Anyway, here's the best pictures I got of the stabiliser on, camera seems to be working fine again.

I might take it off and give it another coat

P6281465-1.jpg

P6281467-1.jpg

P6281470-1.jpg

Then I cleaned the exhaust up, it didn't take too long but it was kinda tricky to do as it kept rolling about, cheated and sat on it in the end

It does look rusty in some pictures still but that's just the angle, others it looks fairly shiny, anyway, gave it a coat of Kurust

P6291487.jpg

P6291489.jpg

Then there was a pile of rad cowl to clean and part of the gear stick assembly

I went back and re done this, I thought I was done for the night but nope

Red Oxided them, then cleaned up some nuts and bolts

P6291514.jpg

P6291515.jpg

P6291517.jpg

Then painted, I'll have to give them a going over with a scotch pad and re paint anyway so the drips don't matter

Not alot to update on. College took up alot of my time getting work finished but that's done and out of the way so I can move onto more mini stuff :P. Once again the college made an unknowingly donation to the project, with the bursary I get I bought a set of wheels and a gearstick gaitor free

The yellow one is the soul survivor of one of dads old coopers he had

Also painted the manifold and exhaust in stove paint

The pulley also got aerosoled, not sure what was in the paint but it reacted with almost everything

20130714_143357.jpg

Then since we needed the wheels blasting we went and bought a sandblaster, and my God it's good, makes light work out of everything, still experimenting with the sand and nozzles though

Well, it's almost been a month since my last update so I should probably post something, I've been really un-minivated lately..

Disaster struck, twice.

The first..

20130827_140831.jpg

20130827_140825.jpg

The bonnet had too much paint and the thinners reacted or something or other, it cracked, water got in and as you can see it made a mess..

The second?

Well. first we started piecing more of the engine together, stater motor, dynamo.. radiator

20130720_153854.jpg

20130720_154901.jpg

20130720_153847.jpg

20130720_154345.jpg

Can you spot the mistake?

Spoilers: Rad cowl is in upside down >_<

If it wasn't for that panel being upside down we would have had it running and drivable by now, oh well. I'm leaving for the army in around 15/16 days so we're trying to get it done so I can have a go in it before I go, dads friend is going to sort it all so we're just continuing to build it up, for now.

I used my tablet SD card in my helmet camera and some of the pictures have corrupted, and I can't remember the order the pictures where taken in  >_> anyway..first up the wipers mechanism was washed, put together and sprayed silver and the motor refurbed

20130730_173801.jpg

20130730_173816.jpg

20130802_102705.jpg

The heater was also dissected, back in the day dad had a mark 3 heater in it

20C5624.jpg

20E2264.jpg

200B455.jpg

Cleaned the fan and painted the rad along with the dipstick

20130720_125558.jpg

20130720_125611.jpg

20130720_125634.jpg

Manifold was put on

20130827_140923.jpg

The wheels where painted OEW

20130827_141412.jpg

20130827_141407.jpg

The wiper mechanism and motor was put on

20130827_143243.jpg

20130830_144513.jpg

20130830_144538.jpg

20130830_144723.jpg

I cleaned some exhaust mount bits up, picture of them painted corrupted

20130828_142640.jpg

20130828_144357.jpg

Dads friend started work on the bonnet

20130829_101152.jpg

Can't quite remember what this is, so I'm going with temp sensor

20130830_142107.jpg

Managed to get a genuine exhaust piece for £10 so instead of using the old one in the heat resistant paint we used this one, it's a lot better condition but it's let likely to blow a hole into it, so I sprayed it silver

20130830_123005.jpg

Then put it on

20130830_124706.jpg

20130830_140611.jpg

Sprayed the back half and put that on

20130830_143738.jpg

Looks great!

20130830_150011.jpg

Though it was two foot too long, so trimmed a bit of and gave it a point

Thanks :P

The paint was layed on too thick and reacted with the thinners that was in the etch and primer or something and when the sun got at it it put a crack in the paint, water then got under it and started giving it surface rust which caused a big area to just come straight off, I've got the bit of paint that flaked off and you can see all the layers

Well, this is the last update for the next 6 weeks, leaving for Harrogate saturday night then starting my Army training on Sunday, won't have many privileges as this is to make people want to drop out so needless to say I wont get internet access often. However, the plan is dad will carry on but he's not tech savvy so there won't be many pictures, but it'll be taxed and tested and not much interior, but I don't mind as long as there's a drivers seat  ;D  Hopefully with my first months wages I can get my insurance, because I passed my driving test with 2 minors! :D

I'm pretty annoyed as my tablet said that my SD card had corrupted and become an unknown format again, so I lost more pictures

First up the bits for the distributor where cleaned and painted, the distributor was also refurbed and sprayed silver

20130912_162121.jpg

20130912_162129.jpg

Some carb bits where done

20130912_162116.jpg

20130912_162133.jpg

I started cleaning the air box, I'm pretty annoyed as all the picture of this corrupted, I only got half way as it became awkward to clean and now I've ran out of time before the Army.

20130912_162140.jpg

20130912_162149.jpg

Then I let dad strip the carb, I'd have a go myself but he knows how it's set up and if a bit gets lost it's his fault not mine, his friend is going to clean it up for us using an ultra sonic cleaner of some sort, so hopefully it will come back super shiny

So close..

Im back!

First 6 weeks in the Army have been eventful and I cannot wait to go back.

Mum and dad have been carrying on with the Mini but they haven't done too much and I haven't got many pictures as the old camera died.

The carb was sent of to dads friend to be ultra sonicly cleaned, I'll get some pictures of that later, but here's the work i do have pictures off.

Turns out this is the genuine milage, not bad.. not bad at all :D

My other love to the mini is the Farina, particularly the Austin Westminster, I always intended on spending most of my Army wages on one, and had set up a savings account to put away 700 a month for one.. but when I got home all I heard was mum say "Don't scream"

Me and dad sat and watched this go for silly money on ebay a few months ago and it came back on and failed to sell, turns out this was the English Ambassador for Kenya's car, it's all original and has never been welded, except for 1 piece of chrome being unoriginal. I'll give this a proper update soon but it's good to be back! :D

Well it's been a long time since I've updated this thread and done anything related to the mini what so ever, so its probably about time I updated what has been done.. which really isn't a lot, my parents have been taking pictures of what has been done but I can't find where the SD Card got put and over the time I've forgotten what has been done so I'll just start fresh again

First up the new master cylinders where covered in lacquer

q82z.jpg

It's not the greatest picture but I didn't want to touch it, rocker cover is painted

67nh.jpg[/IMG]

One of dads friend ultra sonically cleaned the carb for us

loqi.jpg[/IMG]
1l6g.jpg

And another friend repaired part of the binnacle

90gh.jpg[/IMG]

I did say there wasn't alot :P

But just when I thought I'd seen it all, I saw this while christmas shopping

Hello everyone! I'm back on another 2 week break from the army so I have quite a few updates to put on

First off bits that dad done while I was away

002.jpg

004.jpg

005.jpg

008.jpg

007.jpg

Then we put the door windows and chrome strip in..

Interior pieces

012.jpg

Lights

Battery

018.jpg

BWARP!

019.jpg

Then the rocker cover went on.. I'll post the pictures of that being prepared later as they're on mums camera..

100_4267.jpg

100_4268.jpg

100_4269.jpg

So! Fast forward to.... yesterday

All ready!

100_4561.jpg

On went the fuel pump

100_4563.jpg

100_4566.jpg

100_4572.jpg

It had to come off a later on as it wasn't pumping, turned out to be a bad connection on the points

We used these rubber end caps on the end of the braided hose to give it a more flush look

100_4574.jpg

And plumbed it all in..

100_4576.jpg

100_4577.jpg

AAAAAND WE HAVE LIFE!
