Not done alot of work today, we havnt' got a clip to go behind the brake cylinder to hold it in, so it will have to wait, you're not supposed to work on a sunday anyway ;D

Masked up the drums and painted the lip, then the whole thing (Picture of the lip got corrupted :S)

Then put it on, only the clip holding us back from putting the front wheels on! :(

Posted Image

Then cleaned up the hydraulic brake switch

I didn't clean the end as thats where the new bit is going :P

And thats about it for today...

Had a good go at the Mini this week, the loom is in now, rear lights are waiting to be wired up, lots of nuts and bolts have been put on and done up, some parts for the headlining have arrived and I've cleaned one of the windows.

But today we've been playing with the master cylinders, out of the four we had.. we now have one. (now 2)
They where cleaning up nicely too :(
So we went to a friend who's son did Mini-Stox and got one, dad's took the guts out of them and we're now sorting them out

Had a similar experience.

Refurbed my two MC's only to find that they were riddled with pin holes.
Had to get 2 nice new ones - fortunately found some ebay bargains over the past year or so!

For now I've cleaned up the old ones fairly decent and dads bought some new insides for them, since he wants to bleed the brakes and such before the engine goes in, hopefully we'll stumble across some better ones in time :P

Fairly bigish step from the last update, tomorrow the rear side windows 'should' be in, providing the weather is good... saying that I've probably just jinxed it >_<

Also starting to get frustrated with this camera, it never takes a un-blurred picture, but when it does it's a damn good one >_<

To start of with, this should have been in an update a few weeks ago.. my bad :proud:
The wiring loom is in, kind of, we connected some of the terminals up after I took this picture, but there't not that many things you can connect them too without an engine/battery :P

After several attempts the fuel tank finally came up right

I then put some foam on the bracket for the fuel tank

Posted Image
Posted Image

And then done the same to the strap

Posted Image
Posted Image

And then I got distracted for alot longer than I'd like to admit by a cool dried paint blob :D

Posted Image

Anyway, in went the tank

And then I started cleaning/polishing the windows, I didn't clean the glass so much as it's bound to get covered in finger prints when we put them in

And then window 2

That's it.. for today :P

It can get tedious after a while, and you just need a bit of encouragement to get going again, but it is definately worth it.

Sorry I ignored your comment Alex, didn't even notice you'd commented... many moons ago :/

Not too sure where I left off but the starter and dynamo are all painted, the interior strip that goes on the parcel shelf and under the window rubber is glued in place but we're having troubles with the rubbers, the back one is too short by 2 inches when around the window and the front one is 3 inches too long, I think its because theyve expanded and shrunk and gone out of shape coiled up in the box, so dad has fitted them around the windows and taped them in and they fit, just gonna leave it for a while and hope they get reshaped... Keep meaning to get to work on the engine but it's cold and I've been to lazy with Christmas ;D

Mini Magazine did come do a photoshoot the other week, I'm going in the on the job section soon :D

Not done alot at all recently, Army application (finished now, waiting allocation :D) College, moped needing fixing itself and general other stuff, but have got the starter and dynamo back, refurbed and running and me and dad attempted to put the windows in, and that's as far as we got. The rubbers were either too short or too long so we taped them to the car to get their shape back and left it, we were gonna star tthe engine today but dads decided to make more space and stand a 4 post ramp up..fun
