What a beautiful bit of kit! Excellent work matey, it looks stunning.

It'll be interesting to see the next progression.

Great photos by the way.

Thanks a lot guys means a lot when people appreciate the work! Should be taking it on a proper shoot soon so I'll post the pics up on this thread

The seats are surprisingly comfy, but then I've only driven it for about 10 minutes at a time so far :P I'll let my rear tell you after a proper drive haha

So yesterday me and dad spent alllll day in the garage preparing it for the MOT, we had to re-shim all four ball joints as there was a bit of play in them, adjust the handbrake which was a pain, and set the ride-height so it could actually get out the garage, along with other small jobs and checks.

Just got back from the MOT test centre anddd...

IT PASSED!! first time, no advisories, so pleased :) now we just need to run down to the post office, tax it and get it out there!

:D

Okay so sorted the insurance out yesterday, and 24 hours after first driving it I get pulled by traffic cops. It was only because the system hadn't updated itself so it was still showing up as SORN'd, but the police said they were only following me in the first place to get a look at the car! So having sorted out the paper work they went on to have a look round and ask about the restoration; these cars definitely attract attention :D

Also (for anyone interested in the legalities of mods) they mentioned about the red indicators, the pops and bangs and the dodgy numberplate fixing/positioning but said if it passed the MOT like that then it's fine with them - nice chaps

Thanks! Yep just red spray tint from eBay, and the bolt-plate lights were from eBay aswell but the traffic cops didn't like them; said the light faced backwards too much and was dazzling them

Yep really easy just had to grind and fill. The lip is only spot welded on so it would be even easier to just drill out the spot welds with no need for filling or anything, but this bonnet was rusty so it needed fully grinding off and repairing

Yeah should still work, I've seen it done on your lenses before and it looks similar but not quite as shiny. Might be worth getting some jewel lenses, I got mine from someone off here for a fiver.

Haha like your thinking!

Just a picture of what it looks like with a number plate, not sure if I prefer it like this or central...
