My mum on the other hand loves it and often helps with anything I do on it. The other day whilst in the lockup with it, a lovely elderly guy wandered in and telling us about the mini he and wife used to have

Who gives a monkeys what anyone else thinks
Its yours no one else's ! :)
Also I can't see why chavs round my way don't like minis
They buy saxos ect. Slam them, stick huge dustbin exhaust cans on the back & love to do tw#t laps round town.
Minis are already slammed, sound quite pokey & there great town cars. Every chavs dream right ? Lol

... fill it with what you enjoy ...
... don't waste time - on what others think ,
Makes me laugh when young bloke's pay lots of money to go go-karting -
we do it every day - with a smile on our faces ;o)

Mostly I get the "you should but some big wheels on it and paint it red like the one on top gear" kind of attitude.
Considering iv spent a considerable amount of money, de arching and making my car look more sublte and retro, it can be a bit dis heartening but i try and let it brush off my shoulders.
Its my choice and my car at then end of the day and think of times like this that make me smile like no other car would...

Secondly, I get it all the time with the guys I work with. Telling me how my car is always breaking down and to get a different car. I just say that it will cost me a lot less to fix the problems with my car than it would to fix the problems with theirs. Purely because I won't have to go to a garage.
That's what the tech help section is for.

Edit: Girls usually comment on the rattles and squeaks, one the other week asked "why does it have belts on the front" (bonnet straps) I laughed then explained
But the reason half of them were in the car is because they asked for a ride after we got chatting, because of the Mini! Wouldnt get that with many modern cars.
Minis are pullers ;) I have to agree lol

They are terrible by all modern standards, but they are damn good fun.
Having said that I took my mums car out for a quick spin today just for a shakedown run pre MOT, god it was good I didn't want to get back into my fiesta.
