Looking good so far, however I'm sorry to say I think you'll be having big issues with not being able to get the engine low enough.

I understand your concerns guys but the frame is merely a skeleton to work from in its very basic from, the lower legs are more than likely to be cut away once the front has been finalised etc :)
We have got the inspiration from a few frames that have been made previously without issues towards the 45deg joints, so long as its properly braced once finished it will be fine.
(The guy whos building it is doing me a favour during his time off from building spaceframed hot rods for the strip)

Ok so no update on this for a long time - This is due to a number of things.. personal and stuff.
The main problem is I've been let down majorly in terms of this micra conversion - Im half tempted to sell up everything ive bought so far, its caused so much stress and tears from being constantly let down with almost every aspect towards the project..
So, For the time being we are plonking a 998 engine in place (im sure i mentioned this before?) haha anyway, yeah the 998 is coming along really well, Jack has totally stripped and rebuilt me a standard engine which is almost finished!
He also helped me repair the knackered old loom (It had a few horrors hidden by tape!) which I have fitted today, Front headlights in and front indicators in. Im shattered so calling it a day.
So this weekend - Weather permitting we will fit the rear subframe and all bits that go with it.
Hopefully she will be ready for the show season!
(If anyone remembers the awesome battered old bumper i was dragging round Bingley.. It looks awesome on the car!)
Pics when I've charged my phone :)

Jack and I spent the day working on the mini again today..
Got the rear subframe on, rear hubs made up and finished, front subframe in place, loom tidied up and re-routed, steering rack fitted, wheel arches on and bought a few more parts to finish :)
Before anyone asks.. no I wont be painting it!

Thats the look im aiming for.. I think it looks a bit too much with both on there.. I may end up taking them off anyway as not keen on how far they poke out.
Gonna let people write on the bonnet at the shows again this year :)

Just read this from start to finish, great stuff. Will keep an eye on this. Keep on truckin' with the Micra conversion, if you want it to happen it will.
