More goodies turned up today, still waiting on more!

 

And as i typed that, the parts came through the door :)

 

I take that back, it was rat food!

Well i only had red, and i only had enough time / space to do one side at a time..

 

So, one side of the rear frame has been flapped back (thanks sam), then etch primered.. then a lovely coating of hammerite red!

The radius arms will be getting a rebuild too as i have new bushes etc for it all.

I will be doing it bit by bit but will eventually be all red. the underside will be waxoiled once on the car :)

I heard from the workshop that my engine has been stripped back.. Im going to pick up the exhaust manifold soon to get a new flange laser cut :)

 

 

Before anyone says it.. its not in my front room haha!

Does anyone know the kind of product i need to put the loom plate thing back into the bulkhead with.. it was like thick bluetack that came off?

Mastic tape should do the job - this is the stuff I'm gonna use on my britax roof frame when I re-fit it in the spring.

Bluhhh.. depressing weekend with not a lot done! now at the subframe building stage. no idea what we are doing so going to take some measurements and wing it!

 

Plus, put the gearbox on the engine and found this :

I'm pretty sure Frank runs his without that metal plate that covers some of the gaps.

He did mention it to me, im just worried about crap getting in there :/ 

Also want to know if there is something that is meant to go where the right hand pot joint goes in.. seems alot of threaded holes in that area..

Yes I think the rear mount fits some holes, there's also a little support bar from the gearbox to engine, most of which Frank doesn't use.

Subframe modifications.. Seam welded the top, Chopped the front off and put a brace bar between the struts.. Thanks lads :)

 

 

 

Anyone who knows mini subframes will see that part of the frame strut has been cut and folded, then seam welded for strength.. These buggers are tough to cut, at some parts they have about 3 faces to cut through

 

We took measurements then started cutting, Will put the numbers up when i find the paper we put it on.

With this frame we are going to measure everything, hopefully allowing people to cut and make their own frames once we have this one together! maybe put some plans together?
