Unsure what colour to do it.. at the mo its a mix of grey, red, white, yellow, black and brown
Mum and me hung the doors, pretty easy if im honest, they lined up really nice (one is off my brothers written off shell, the other from a cooper with the SIP bar inside :)
The shell has been patched in places so still a little rusty!

I have fitted an spi tank / pump + fuel lines to get around the need for a weird tank and aftermarket pump :) (They came up very cheap so couldnt say no!) Also got an spi loom at a good price so have used the fuel pump live and rear loom to be spliced into the carb mini loom i removed before for repairs
Forgot to add, when the shell left the workshop the fella kindly painted parts of it with gloss for me so i could see how it looked.. so now i have a gloss blackish roof, a partially white interior and some other white parts.. I didnt like any of it so put alot of primer over it

Its Niki at Jacks house at the moment.. Heres a pic of our efforts today :)
Last bit of welding done, floors painted neon red hammerite, doors re-aligned, undersealed patches, put the blanking plate back in the bulkhead box section bit. I dont like the white primer it was left in so slowly finding different paint colours to cover it in.
She will be the same, rough and ready so you wont see any paint buffing here, no polish, just a working car!
Starting on the subframe next :)

Looking good and solid again........not tempted to replicate the original silvery-textured-weave type paint finish then? :)

Something I've always wanted to try is to paint a car in a light colour then use it as a blank canvas - get your mates, family, miniclub members, other enthusiasts at mini shows to paint something meaningful on the bodyshell somewhere (and maybe sign it)......so that the paintjob kind've develops over time. Once a panel is full you could lacquer over it to preserve it.....
Obviously there is a danger that some people find drawing nobs meaningful......but hopefully you can avoid too much of that type of graffiti :)

my bonnet is used for that at shows, Ive had some fantastic artwork left on it.... and plenty of nobs.. But its all for the fun of it :)
Even had Erik pickles drawn on there at the last show haha. This will be a tradition i will continue even after her resto!
