120mph on a private road of course..... had a bit more to go but i bottled it, car sounded like it was about to fall apart!! lol. Before anyone asks how its possible to hit them speeds, remember i have a vaux engine..... i dont recommend going that fast in a mini EVER though, its not as fun as you might think! and 1 false move........ you all know how easy it is to write off a mini.... :S havnt passed about 75mph since then lol.

warp 8 is easily achievable with some stickers and red callipers but if he had said he had an ebay special turbo unit bolted on that would make all the difference and warp 9 is then achievable possibly warp 9.53 with a colour tune and some new red ht leads.

All the way round to half full on the fuel gauge, 1275 turbo. Very scary.
Scariest moment was first run on vauxhall power and finding that there is no engine braking. Austin 1100 brakes belong on Austin 1100's!

I've had mine up to 88mph, I assume it would probably go a bit faster, but after that there's a always a big flash and it goes back to 1985!! :P

This is how fast I go in my '63. I have seen an indicated 74, but due to me having mechanical sympathy for the old thing I very rarely see the other side of 70. The speedo seams to be quite accurate as it matches all those speed indicators by teh side of the road.

PS My own LSR is an idicated 141mph, done in a Merecedes 380SL. The highest speed I have had measured by a third party is 96mph, on the M6 near Birmingham. That cost me 3 points and £30.

Non mini related but when I was about 10 and my dad still worked at Jaguar he had an XJR (4.2 supercharged V8 luxury barge) for a company car and we were coming back from birmingham on the M1 at about 3 in the morning. I can confirm that the electronic limit is 155mph... It was still far quiter than my standard 998 doing an indicated (and I believe accurate) 95mph. At 155 the lane dividing lines just become one long blur which is quite impressive

however apparently in the newer shape XKR the limiter only works in 6th so if you leave it in 5th you can get 170mph haha!

A boy at college had an mr2, and he reckoned that he was able to reach its limiter of 145mph, in the middle of the day. He also alleged that he could get to said speed whilst on some single carriageways.
