A boy at college had an mr2, and he reckoned that he was able to reach its limiter of 145mph, in the middle of the day. He also alleged that he could get to said speed whilst on some single carriageways.

Haha! this was at night on an empty motorway though, and in a car actually capable of doing so

A friend of mine will quite happily scare the :xxx: out of me at 160+ mph on the motorway in his Focus RS, but at 100mph in my Mini he was pleading with me to slow down! lol

Maybe its because he knows that I've worked on it!

Try doing 165 on a Gsxr!
I vouch the fact white lines become one single line!

But my minis only done 60 on the back of trailer so far

I'll test mine on the 'ring in September, or maybe on the way over.

Not had much top end out of it so far to be honest.

The lines get blurry much earlier than 160mph! About 120 is enough. Not that ive ever been that speed on a public road...

Here is a mini doing what it does best. Admittedly it's a z-car but the principle's the same.
How fast does it go? Who cares?

I had 90mph on the GPS (110 on the clock) out of my old Mini 35 which was stock apart from Play Mini exhaust & cone filter. Thought that was quite an acheivement! On private land ofcourse.

Had the Pickup to about 95-100mph at Castle Combe. That was fast enough!

Friend of mine (Summs116) got his to needle pointing downwards on 110mph late style clocks at Castle Combe.

A boy at college had an mr2, and he reckoned that he was able to reach its limiter of 145mph, in the middle of the day. He also alleged that he could get to said speed whilst on some single carriageways.

I have experienced 145mph indicated on speedo in an MR2 (I wasn't driving), it is possible surprisingly! It's more like 130mph in real life. On a motorway in the middle of the day is really stupid. At night on an empty motorway is just stupid.
