Tell you what there is a nice Audi RS4 down the road that I like the look of, I'll just apply to become the new registered keep of that by filling out the form. i'm not sure it quite works that way?
I would tell the DVLA that you do not agree to the registered keeper update and that as the car has been reported as stolen they should freeze the registered owner until the outcome of a court case or similar?

He had a similiar experience a few years back with his Mini "The Codfather".
I believe there is a thread on here somewhere, but I'm crap at getting the search thing to find anything on here!

It could still be the same scumbags with the Mini, it's more likely to be a "Carl 'n Wayne" in an old transit acting as sole traders than a pucka limited company, and anything other than a private owner is likely to seem fishy for an old Mini offered for sale.
Think I'd best apologise to any actual Carls & Waynes on TMF now

The whole thing has really angered me. My friend didn't tell me about needing a badge to park there, but that should not give the bastards the right to just take the car overnight with no warning or anything. It is for this reason that I am going to follow it up and see what comes of it. I will get legal advice in a couple of days when I get back to Afghan, and see where I stand then.
As for the name of the company, I will need to dig around a bit to find out what it was as I can't remember.

Maybe it will shame the people that took your car into giving it back - especially as I'm getting the impression that you are 'serving your country' so there's a human interest aspect to it?

I remember checking the company name out before, and there are plenty of reports of this company being a bunch of scum bags and I am pretty sure they were not the kind of people who suffered shame. They sounded like a typical bunch of sods to me. The most annoying thing was, they 'offered' me a cheap deal to get it back. I then managed to raise the cash, phoned them back the next morning and the guy told me it was only valid the day before. I was raging and it was at that point I told him to do one.
In hindsight, I really should have followed this up sooner.

I think the best thing I can do at the moment is legal advice, and then if I can't get the car back, I will get in touch with the owner and at least try and get the two white wheels back.
The really annoying thing though was the engine hoist. I had the two legs in there for storage and they were taken as well. The hoist itself was at my go's house, and she moved and she couldn't take it with her. So I ended up losing that as well as she couldn't even sell it with no legs
