I hope this will support the car!

At the front I have wood blocks on the underside of the firewall and two 2x4s on top as you can see in the pic. And at the rear I hope the 2 x4 s are long enough!

Let me know what you think about this set up anyone.

Well,

Got a good look at the underside today. I was hoping to identify what parts were rusted so I could buy replacement panels but honestly I dont even know what some of these panels are called!

Thanks dausupersprint.

Thats what ive been doing but I guess I dont have a good view. Im trying to understand the outer and inner sills as well as what I can weld on my own without buying panels. Ill keep you posted.

Question.

I will replace the sills. However parts of the first grove of the floor panel is also rusted but there is no need to replace the whole floor. Is there an issue that I can not foresea if I replace the metal and its not in the shape of a grove?

thanks

Mods,

Thanks for sending this to the Honda vtec threads. Thats right. Ive decided to put a VTEC B series in my 30.

For the time being Ive welded some support between the door frames for when I cut out the door step and the back end of the trunk (boot) has been cut out as well for a new panel to be welded in.

Best.

MILESTONE!!!

First new piece of metal welded today. In the boot. Lesson learned... replica panels... not so much.

Starting to think now which sub frame to put into my mini. MINI TEC?

SUBFRAME question.

Should I go ALLSPEED or MINI TEC subframe?

Please chime in here.

hi there have you got donor car or just engine i had a go at fitting one of these engines and found it too costly but prices are lot better now as frames go allspeed looked a good frame but isnt mini tec made in usa and be easier for you to get and if i remember right bulkhead mods are needed for both or inlet mod and maybe gbox but suppose depends on kit type ie bare frame or not

subframe choice is entirely up to you, i have the allspeed frame. its a nice piece of kit and easy to install. i wouldve probibly gone for minitec if it wasnt for import tax etc, johny on here has it and matched with the coilovers it does look really smart.

but like i say its up to yourself. being where you are maybe the minitec is the more practical option

Sounds about right for the mini tec.

Converted to CDN $ the allspeed is 1000$ and the mini tec is 2300 subframe only and 3200 with parts like the rad that fit under a round nose. I have to find out what my total cost will be for the allspeed to come into canada.

Also, coil overs will go into the front. Should they also go to the back?
