No messing there! Keep going, this is good stuff. I'm interested in those inner sill strengtheners. Are those 'optional extras' ? Or vitals? I dont't seem to have them on mine.

Cheers,
M

i think they are a vital panel as i removed the standard ones !

If you didnt have them if you looked were the spare wheel goes there would be gaps between the load floor and inner sill

Hopefully i will get some more work done today! :D

Done some more this afternoon !
Started with sweeping the carpet up ! well at least some of the bits of rust XD
Posted Image
Then i solved the problem with the welder and fixed it with welding wire :)
Posted Image
Cleaned up all the welds on the valence closing panel as these were getting on my nerves
Posted Image
Weld an inch, miss an inch, weld an inch, miss an inch and so on lol
Posted Image
And finally cleaned up the edge and primmed it up !

Also need to do the doorskins soon what ones are the best ?

What problem did you have with the welder? Im borrowing one off my friend at the moment... performance doesnt seem too good to me either (maybe its my welding skills :S )

Interesting that you have a full length floor, not the standard saloon + 4 inches.

well the wire was feeding very slow even at max on the dial. no amount of adjusting solved it until i realized the torch cable was at a right angle coming out of the machine ! so the wire holds it up straight allowing the wire to feed smoothly! :D

Yeh the non gen panels are extended without the extra piece. Got the driver side from somerford mini and the passenger side from minisport they fit very well!

Couldn't get much done this week as i have been working every day ! but my dad has helped by putting some strip lights up so i can do all the grinding/ cleaning up in the evenings and welding when its light (extension lead cant run welder and lights)
Also the cross member has just arrived so that will be fitted asap! :)

Im confused at what panel i need for the inside of the rear quarter? saloons have a heelboard to rear corner closer but i cant see a panel for van/pickup? is it supposed to be double layer or single layer on the corner by the radius arm nipple? for the other side i made an inner from a saloon quarter repair panel but i would like the real thing this side if i can :)
