Repaired the wheel arch by making up a section then repaired part of the rear quarter. Waiting for panels from somerford so rest of rear quarter has to wait

Degreased and started to rub down the front subframe the other day

Then grounded down the weld on the p/s floorpan

Need to get some etch primer and get this subframe done and built back up asap! need to get it rolling soon.

Over here powdercoating is pretty randomly available.

Is it just the pic, or does your front frame have a bend in it?

Yep there is a dent along the bottom edge were someone has jacked it up at the front. I will straighten it out before I paint it :)

got some discs from screwfix today! so i cut and clamped the panel with my intergrips
Posted Image
Tacked it and removed the grips
Posted Image
started to weld in different places each time to avoid distortion
Posted Image
fully welded
Posted Image
ground it all down and sprayed some 182 over the top :)
Posted Image
Also welded up the holes on the other side that were covered with tacked on patches
Posted Image
Posted Image
I will be starting on the other corner next! cheers !

Apparently powder coating doesn't get into the grain of the metal, so eventually if it will flake off and rust still, where-as acid etch gets into the grain

Nice work by the way, been following this closely :P
