Firstly give your self a slap around the back of the head for the lack of use of axle stands when the car is jacked up. seeing as there seems to be a child near the car in one of the picks.
Secondly pat your self on the back for doing a stella job on a budget. The roof turned out really good. Looks great.

The jack has a built in axle stand / mechanical lock mate :)

Are you going to be keeping it auto? Or are you going to do a conversion?

Love the Mini by the way :)

Its that time of the year where I start getting bored! I've taken the mini off the road to do some work over the winter.

The plan is an Allspeed C16SE conversion. Decided to get started stripping it down today.

I plan to lift the body off the subfame and pull the whole lot forwards to remove the engine and gearbox. Has anyone done it this way and if so how heavy is the front end to lift over the engine / subframe?

A lovely 31,000 miles 1275 Auto, will be up for sale soon with subframe, gearbox and all ancillaries.

A couple of hours later!

I did this yesterday to change my steering rack, although the car didn't have the engine in, so might be harder but we used a jack, plank of wood and two axel stands and was quite easy actually

Matt

EDIT: was me and dad, would be hard on your own I think

E-bay bargain from an unfinished project, less than half price of buying new.
