No need for the engine steady mount any more so its gone.
Any extra holes in the bulkhead have been welded up
That inner wing needs to go to make way for the alternator once the engine is in
I left a good 1" lip around the inside to retain some strength
Bit of a wiggle and the subframe fits
Just need an engine now

Very nice project mate, not sure how I missed this. I'm sure it'll turn out just as clean as your ERA... but the budget has gone out the window eh?
Nice work on replacing the scuttle with the front end in place too, never seen that done before...

I love White minis. The car looked GREAT before you started stripping it. But with your quality off work it will look even better when done.

Bulkhead box arrived so time for some chopping
I welded up the corners. My best bit of welding for ages then the gas ran out. Why is it always the last bit of gas welds the nicest?
I like to get into my work
What a complete nightmare to line up. I measured 3 times, cut the hole but struggled to get it to meet the measurements in the diagram. If I had followed the exact measurements I would have cut a good 10mm into the steering rack strengthening plate. On top of that my steering rack rises from left to right about 5mm. In the end I had to cut higher to avoid chopping to far into the rack. I hope it fits now?
Just got to weld it in when I get some gas. I think I will weld inside and out.
I'm fast running out of space in the house for mini bits.

Really liking this project, starts off with a nice budget resto then straight in with an engine conversion!
Keep up the good work!
