We are seeing it with motor homes at the moment. Due to a rise in thefts insurance companies are stipulating cat 1 alarms and trackers as a necessity

That is terrible. The Police could stop a majority of vandalism if they tried, but my experience (living next to a park with a clear view of the kiddies park they regularly trash) is that they don't care. If you are lucky someone rolls up a few hours later but more often than not its a stupid phone call the day after. The guy opposite has suffered for years with his fence being damaged and they don't give a damn it seems. I saw an attempted car break in a few weeks back. I phoned the police and for once they were there within the hour, I told them the scumbags had only left a couple of minutes ago and pointed which way but they stood around chatting! I used to go out to the yobs myself and sorted most problems, but after following one gang who had terrorised an elderly neighbour I was told by the police I was lucky I wasn't being prosecuted for harassment - I had followed them and shouted that I had phoned the police. Utter madness.I thought of another simple and free way to cause them problems. Disconnect the battery when you park up. Obviously you will have to keep the security system hoked up though... I would take it as a challenge to never get my mini stolen. It's vandals that worry me!!

My last mini was parked int the private car park under my flat. I went out in the evening and came home to find a bunch off total C**TS smashed my whole mini to bits. They broke all the windows and dented every panel and the roof

The worst thing is that no one can do anything to stop vandals. Thieves on the other hand...

if thats meant for me then no, it wouldnt have mattered if it did as the getaway car was on false plates.Has the car park got anpr cameras?
spoken to the police again today,
im the 13th person this year to have reported a theft of a mini in/around the birmingham area.
from what i can gather they werent taking me very seriously until i told them about so many others, the PC in charge of my case now thinks there is cause for concern (i think the police have been watching reruns of sherlock).
still waiting on the forensics, and the mini is now getting sorted before being hidden away while i organize a new vehicle.

Proof that 'intelligence led policing' is an oxymoron.if thats meant for me then no, it wouldnt have mattered if it did as the getaway car was on false plates.
