store cctv does cover the attempted theft but only on the very periphery of the view so theres no real quality only reference to time and their actions.
it does show he was in the car for just under 5 minutes so clearly was stumped by the immobilizer. As by rights it shouldn't have taken that long.
gave a statement last night at the police station and hopefully something will come from evidence found but i won't hold my breath.
i can't park it somewhere more secure it was parked in a busy public car park in the middle of the afternoon. This didn't happen in the dead of night i'm at a loss as to what more i can do.
i spoke to Old Skool Minis to get an idea for prices for parts. They said i'm the 5th person in the last month around Birmingham to request the same parts. So clearly Minis are being targeted, one chap had only popped into Lidl and they tried in the car park.
still don't think i'll be keeping it, but even the misses (who's always hated the mini, well my devotion to it) says not to make any rash decisions especially as im still more than pissed.

This is really bad news. I agree regards plod, not sure what more you can do really. I have a removable steering wheel but I suppose if they really want it they will just bring a trailer and then your stuffed. Not good.i spoke to Old Skool Minis to get an idea for prices for parts. They said i'm the 5th person in the last month around Birmingham to request the same parts. So clearly Minis are being targeted, one chap had only popped into Lidl and they tried in the car park.

Siren needs to be a battery back up so if they rip it off it will still carry on.
Hope you don't have to sell due to this

Alarm + imobilizer + kill switch along with lockable bonnet pins should help prevent it happening again

I've had fun with the mini but ive also had some serious nightmares. I could always justify the rubbish occasions and invest my time and money and make good. But if someone has now decided they deserve all that for nothing and cam just take it, then I think my mini days are over.
I can only see this problem getting worse so holding onto the mini won't really help.
At least I've had 4 years of reasonably fun times.
