Look's good cliff, are you going to make your own scuttle closing panels?

I knew i recalled someone asking this, and today i did just that Alex, made one if the scuttle fillet pieces....

After a good spray of primer, stonechip and brush on chassis black up under the corner of the scuttle i spot welded the filler piece in and it was as easy as that.

Also started to clean up the front panel inner surface so i can prime, paint and protect finaly before bolting it up and welding the front wings to it and welding the eyes of the front panel onto the inner wings.

Id be more than happy to help you guys out with making some up, i can make them a maximum of about 49-50" long as the box pan folder is only 50 inches wide  .

The overall length of the sills are around 67" in total so the frontal section would have to be fabricated and welded on (not that hard).

Making your own panels does save a suprising ammount of money.

Thankyou Tom :).

Also, i should mention that i used an air powered nibbler on the sill section, thats why the cut gap is so large haha

Some more progress made today:

So thats one sill cut out, going to do one side at a time and see about making up the jacking point bracket and what not at college out of 2mm steel.

Also cleaned up the welds on the new sill piece:

DSCF3756_zpsf55c5204.jpg

And fitted the front again after priming and painting for the time being with brushed on black:

DSCF3766_zps736e0d2c.jpg

Jobs to do on the front are, cut the indicator holes out larger and dreess the nearside flitch welds down so i can fit the under scuttle fillet piece:

Thanks for looking,

Cliff
