Pfft i'd finish the whole project in a week if i 1) didnt have neighbours 2) had the parts/panels & 3) if i had a ruddy roof to work under as the weathers started acting up again now

lol
(1) forget the neighbours
(2) get on the phone tell them to hurry up
(3)knock down your living room wall and bring it in.

Nice one mate. Looks like quite a lot of work there! the inner wing drivers side is looking all to familiar to me!
Hope you don't mind but I saved one of your bulkhead pictures for reference as mine is very badly corroded and I don't know where needs square holes for plastic captive threads and grommets.... But I do now!
Best of luck
Ben

DAY 5:
Hello again.
Today's doings have been not to bad progression wise & also what im finding isnt to bad either so budget resto is GO GO GO .
I started on the nearside flitch by removing the area around the door post so i could inspect wheater i might need new A-post panels aswell, all seems decent enough in that area & just some grinding flush of spotwelds & repair welds here & there then i'l be welding the flith panel in.
I then got distracted & this is the part were progress slowed down in bodywork & i started detail cleaning obsessively, atleast the offside bulkhead matches the nearside now , oh and i cleaned up the mater cylinder & servo abit & the clutch/bell housing & started on the block hahaha on and on it goes
.
Sooo...picture time....
Firstly heres the hole i found yesterday behind the nearside shocker mount:
This is the flitch with the big patch:
Heres the patched area peeled back to reveal unpainted area & the left overs of the original panel:
Photo from within:
This is were i left it:
Now thats all i did body wise as a got side tracked after a few of these (Brew):
As i supped my brew i saw a long coiled wire connecting to the fuse box:
A bit of a cut & crimp later i had a tidy area once more :
Now, first for a cleanup was the servo:
Then the clutch master cylider:
& the bulkhead cleaned up:
My cleaning frenzy spread down to the factory yellow 998 :
Atleast its a start as it'll need a clean at some point .
Heres a picture of tools used so far (look how neat i am ).
Thats your lot for today folk of TMF.
Thanks again
Cliff

will you slow down man.. going like a ram.
top work
Posted 04 May 2013 - 08:10 PM
I am going slow
, thing is i barely come back in when im out i stay out until it goes dark or starts raining so i can get more done
.
Plan of action next is to clean up the mating surface, weld new metal were needed & clean the engine, clean the surface rust off the offside flitch & inner wing area then a coat of etch primer & yeah you guessed clean something else....
