Checkmate cleaned out today and started removing the tar stuff from around the front drivers floor pan in prep for welding in the new floor pan (of which I'm picking up tomorrow!!!!  ).

 

Also found some batteries for the camera so will have photos too. I miss posting obscene amounts of photos  .

Well I've been let down by AutoCrash Parts, there delivery driver is still on rounds picking things up around the country, despite them saying they'd have my parts there mid day Monday!!

Not the first time they have let me down and I'll be making a point of avoiding them from now onwards as a result.

Well it's taken me long enough to get home after work and picking up the important stuff, 2.5 hours in total!

 

But........they are here!

 

2 mini floor pans and metro sills coming right up!

 

Apologise for the terrible picture quality, my phone is barely 21st Century

 

 

 

That's all for tonight, should get a good hour on the Checkmate floors tomorrow after work.

Neither can I!!! , been waiting to get started again for a while Haha.

Yeah got both mini and Metro panels on there, she's a good old bike I tell ya! ;)

Unfortunately the floor pans were just slightly too big to get clearance on the pedal stroke, so I just rolled down the hills and pushed it the rest of the way

 

Not too sure as the whether I should weld the whole floor pan in or cut out the section I need and leave the original areas that are not rusted ?

lol nice one mate and as for the panels you no more than me on how to fit panels as I annoyed you with loads of questions on mine lol. but if I was doing them I would replace the whole lot as then I know the floor is going to be brand new if your keeping the mini?

Don't say that Tom, you've restored a mk1 and it looks Beautiful!!!!   you've done an excellent job that I myself would be absolutely over the moon with achieving .

Hi, just another update to show I've been getting on with this.

Wiped the panel down with Thinners tonight in preparation for Zinc priming and welding in place either tomorrow or Friday.

That's the same floor panel i fitted to mine, They fit really nice mate.
