bad repairs to help mr mot man pass the car and the hidden rust is the reason i had to replace the whole floor, door step / A posts and hinge panels. i just love how they hold rust hidden behind things. i got told by a guy at work that he had a sound mini because he and his son had removed some paint and treated some rust with rust converter and repainted it. it was one of these I've bought a so called repaired mini thats had tonnes of welding done. he wouldn't listen to me when i was talking about the stuff they hide because of lazy repairs ah well alt east we will all know that our cars are 99.9% rust free haha.

Yeah completely understand this mini other than the front end and doors didn't look to bad all before I started, I mean for a mid 90's spi mini any it looked ok. Like you say its those quick bodged mot repairs that have caused more problems than if it had just all been left alone so annoying! But at the end if should no a least that its all solid and back to being honest. Once this side is done on floors sills etc it will be time to do some tidying around the back and some also at the front door skins then the massive task of prep and paint starts...

Doing well, it is these quick repairs that take the most time to sort out properly.
Thanks Daz., and yes this is true...

I'm looking forward to getting to be able to paint prep I've got a while yet but will be there soon. I can't believe how bad mid 90's to end of production car rust definitely a lot of people didn't check things and just passed over the point of unfinished cars because they looked nice on top.
Yeah I cant wait, your project looks like its coming along nicely. And yeah tell me about it they are defo worse my girlfriends has a 89 mini flame its got bits wrong with it but no where near as bad as this was. Yeah a car can look nice on top but its amazing how many people don't look over a car properly...
