no problem mate, I will ask my mum when I speak to her next, she is visiting my sister in Norway at Mo so it will be early next week. There was SO much stuff they may well still be there. I think there were twenty or so, most tape with a few later ones CD. Some hadn't even been opened. She is in Ockbrook near Derby, so only half an hour from you and about 5 mins from the A50. Send me a quick PM so I don't come on next week trying to remember who I was asking for (I am crap at remembering names).

There's one a spotted on eBay the other day (I'll look after posting), but technically you'll be after a radio cassette for a 25.

Nope, as the 25 had the extra added luxury off a radio and a cassette player over the normal radio fitted to the city's, Mayfair's and sprite of the time.

The speakers I think weren't just used in the 25, so should be easier to find. But like most standard and now outdated bits, most have probably been long thrown in the bin.

On the Mk1 Forum there is this long running thread (162 pages since 2011) which highlights silly prices asked and paid on Ebay for early Mini's and parts:-

WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.

Perhaps TMF should have a similar ongoing thread highlighting the same for later Mini's?

eg. Was this price paid for the Mk1 'basketcase' or its 'EDD' registration number perhaps? (scroll down to original ad.)  :ohno:

With cars you need to watch out for the nostalgia and sentimental factor.... You never know, the buy of that may have previously owned the car or been important to the family....

Fortunately I know where my first mini is and believe it is in good hands.

Maybe I'm going mad in my old age.

But I've just seen a LHD 1997 Sport pack Cooper (apparently restored with 97000km on the clock) advertised at £10995.

Maybe I really am miles off with what I think these cars (apparent parts) are worth? To me, a lovely looking Mpi with that kind of mileage is a 5-6k at best car?

Flipping this on its head before I lose my mind???

What would my 71 mk3 be worth after its nut and bolt resto these days?

It's got about 50k on the clock. 1330cc with stage 4 head, centre main strap, balanced bottom end, lightweight flywheel, twin 1.5 SU carbs (totally refurbished), 286 SP cam, vernier...All engine parts new or totally refurbished. Freshly built SCCR box, SC drops, X-pin diff, Hardy Spicer outputs, new Monte drive shafts, new dizzy, Mini sport 4 pots, 10 x 6 GB alloys, suspension all rebuilt with new components, Newton carpet set, Microcell front seats, 1275GT rear seat....bodywork is undergoing a complete restoration with Heritage panels and It'll be professionally painted in gleaming black soon. It's literally having a nut and bolt rebuild and it's full of new parts.

I'd assumed it'd be a 4k car when finished!

even 5-6k seems quite steep to me

It genuinely looked nice and was listed as rebuilt to 72 spec... also with "Cooper S gearbox".

But It had a rod change box, A+ engine, MPI door bars, tower bolt front subby, side repeaters, fog light...The only thing 72 spec on the car was the VIN plate.

When I started to ask what was involved with making it 72 spec he saw his arse and went off on one asking why I was picking faults with it.

the mini you're on about is the one i posted up on here (it isn't mine, listed for someone in my club) its a very clean and tidy car but it has got its problems like all minis, i have told him that if he's gonna sell it he needs to be completely honest with people as to what it is.
