Ben_O - Not yet. That's the first thing thing I'm gonna do before welding up anything on the w/e.

Ger, as your first 'proper' resto the progress you've made is even more impressive. Keep up the good work :)

Tried again today - a lot more fetling with the bottom of the flitches and now got this.
Used skinpins to slowly pull the panels together.
which gave me this on the inside.
Not perfect but a bit of dressing it should look ok.
Then trial fitted the doors.
So this is how she is after todays work. Panels off tomorrow and prep them ready for welding.

Passenger side panels prepped for welding. They took a little longer than I'd thought.

Interesting to see how your flitch lines up with the toe board, looks exactly like mine, the two panels despite being heritage aren't quite the same shape and I'll be using similar tactics to pull them together as you have here on yours....

You're doing a really good job - you seem to have an impressive set of bodywork clamps - I imagine the right tools make the job easier.
Keep it up,

I've had a busy bank holiday w/e.
First off drivers side inner wing prepped for welding.
Plug welds done.
Welds cleaned up and a splash of primer.
Also did drivers side.
And as I was on a roll I also did the front x-member to wing brackets.
Ground down welds and more primer.
So now she looks like this.

That is really coming along nicely now. Should be on the road for Summer. It really is great to see this kind of work. You seem so methodical and precise. I think your GT should be stronger than when it came off the production line. Great work, keep it going.

So this w/e I finally got her on the jig.
Finished off welding the bottom of the flitches to the toeboard.
Finished off with a splash of primer.
Then back to the routine of cutting more metal out in preparation of doing the floors when I order the panels in July.
