Shurrup, bumgle  Its looking a lot better now - that pic was the best I could find that doesnt give the game away, but its quite old now.

Rear door lock assembled and working, door seal is glued on, wiring fitted to the door - just need to fit a high level brake light now, and my backstreet minis sticker.

N/S door is done now - chrome trim fitted to the pocket, speaker wired up and the door card fitted. We cut an inch off the bottom of the card as well so that you can actually get it out in the future - impossible if not. Mk1 doors really are the creation of the devil.

I fabbed up a clamp to hold the battery today as well, so I can fit that tomorrow. I also leather clad the pod I made for the switches, pimp my ride stylee. Think tomorrows job is to get the front screen in. Then all we need to do is build out the door seals a bit and it should be weathertight.

I got em at the L2B last year from newton commercial - was very surprised they only cost about £35 IIRC. Definately need a bit trimming off em though. You can just get them to go in, but trying to get them out would be impossible.

£35/pair or each?

I know what your saying about the door cards, getting mine out are a PITA, but it can be done with a bit of swearing - your prob not trying enough

£35 for the pair, I'm sure it was. If not, it wasnt a lot more. I've given up with struggling I'm afraid, if theres a way of making something easier then I'll do it. Hence the dash that is all on block connectors instead of a nasty speedo cable.

Need to get the suspension set up, fit the battery clamp, fit the switch pod, get an alarm, refit the dash and tart a few bits up. Oh, and try to fit gas struts to the flip front. Theres some more bits and bobs to do, but not a lot. Should be looking at an MOT within the next 2 weeks I think.

Nice!!

Wasn't sure about the bare wood at first, but looks great varnished!

still think it would look better with a bit of sculpted foam then covered in leather or tweed, hot rodstylee =]

Be a bit more comfortable kipping in too! :teehee:

Great progress, puts others to shame!

Back end is all done, bar fitting a high level brake light, but thats not an MOT fail.

Posted Image

Dash is done as well - switches moved, choke in, steering wheel straight ahaead, just need to fit it all together now.

There ain't a lot left to do on my list now....
