Oi Bungle
Less of the big!

I'm doing it as an experiment - if it works I'll be looking into selling it.

Looks like you've done a real good job there, nice colours ,just a shame about the rear door-never have been a fan of them.

Just playing with my engine going to be standard 1275 spi converted to 1.75 carb with electronic ignition.Wanted to do a complete rebuild on the body but that wont happen now for a while. Thanks for the info on the grill will get onto them tomorrow.

Thanks. Glad I can help!

With the door, I just couldn't find any steel ones that werent completely knackered, so I went for this. Your engine sounds good, keep it simple! Mine's a 1275, mspd trackday cam and an MG metty head. I may well get the head ported a little so she breathes a bit better, but that should be it.

Theres the problem - £260, plus p&p. I'm not going for originality, so I'm not really bothered. Plus it wont ever rust again!

Bit of an update: I think ive made another *final* decision on the seats - late mini twin post headrests recoverd in black vinyl. I saw some in an orange clubby estate in minimag, and they looked great. The cobra classics i was going to do are knackered, so I'm going with these:

(plus they were free)
Whats the silver thing, I hear you ask? thats the heater pad for my heated seats :gimme: haha, I did it!

I've also made another final decision - the dash gauges will be ETB items, I've got to decide which ones I'm having and get them ordered. They seem to be a much more reasonable price than smiths ones as well. Over christmas we should be swapping my cousins engine, so I get his old one then. its a 1275 with a morspeed trackday cam, and tomorrow I'm picking up a head and rockers from CAU998 for it. I need to fix one oil leak on it, and paint it up in BMC green, and the engine is about sorted.

Finally, I also managed to get some welding done as well today - I repaired my outer sill at last.

I now have my stg3 head, combined with the cam, this should make it a nice little runner. I also got a set of MPi stalks, so thats one less switch on the dash. Today I mocked up the gauges to see what I can fit in.

I think I've decided which ones I'll be having too. An electronic speedo, a rev counter, fuel, oil pressure, water temp, volts and a clock. I'll need to put a steering drop bracket on to lower the column a little so I can see the gauges properly nad it should be good. I am also debating whether to chop the crossmember out behind the dash (the one with the switch panel in) and weld a tube across instead, because the crossmember seems a little flimsy at the moment - when you push the steering wheel, the whole thing goes up and down about 3/4". It would also give me more room to mount my stereo in the dash. Any advice?
