when i removed my sc drops the top 2 came off really easily but i couldnt get the bottom one off as the nut was way too tight. We ended up jamming an alley key between the cogs and then using a massive bar and socket to un-do it, after a few cuts and brusies it came off

Yeh removing the floor sound deading is a job I can do when the Mini is back in the garage!

All I have left to do, is welding...

Few patchs on the inside seat...
outter sill
Boot...

I can see me finishing the welding next weekend, quite easily!
Just need a few bits to start building my new subby up with...
Brakes (7.5")
new cones,
Hi-Los anodised
new tie rods etc
and finially get round to putting some weelies on the 10" wheels!!

But need the brakes :genius:

looks great !

Im dreading taking my bins and rear seat out, i have found no holes so far touch wood!

Taking the sound proofing off is a knackering task, leaves a mucky tar like thing behind and its such a pain to get off and gives you emense back ache!

Hope you have fun!!!

Yep your correct Dave!
Its one big hole lol!

So I've got a bit of patching to do, but nothing tooo hard! well not compared the the rest of the holes etc!

I'll be striping the sound proofing off, once I've finished everything else, but I'll be gluing carpet down, this will be my only sound proofing...

I have loads of steel to make plates from.... my old front end :P! I am not not going to bother fitting the new front, or new A panels/hinges till the engine is in, and done... Just means I'll have the hardest job last of all!

But next weekend its meant to be nice, so out with the grinder, and prep the welding areas, even if I just do that saturday, I can spend all day sunday welding!

So watch this space for some rapid welding, and big improvements!

I’ve got to do those same areas on mine near the subfame mount / rear bin area in the spring, only problem is they are double layered, as you have the closing panel which joins the wheel arches to the subfame mounting panel and the you have the quarter panel over the top of that.

Pah, expensive bit of metal you can bend using a hammer, and sheet steel!
I don't see the point in spending that much! even if its cheap!

I've done all underneth, before I fitted the subby!
So its pretty solid underneth...

I'll get it sorted! Least its not bodged like the previous owners doing...!
