To be honest, i would rather see it at all stages, it's more impressive as we can see what it was like and how it turns out. obviously upto you though :withstupid:

Dogmatix did the conversion as well as the new project put up by Mad4mins, they might be able to help!

No! I have found s nice bloke with some MK1 lights that he doesnt want to much for, all there working and complete so that was a bonus!

Yeh i think ill have to order some conversion plates for ebay or some thing, a lot easier and you are sure to get your item waiting 4 months unlike minispares!

Yeh i will grab some pics of them todayif you want! Ive got to go up and get my girlfriends work out of the garage anyhow!

Also i should get a new rear valance in a few days so that whole back end should be done pretty soon i hope :( ;)

Oh so excited!

But i am getting a bit lost on what engine to go for, I was originaly going to go for a K-series conversion because flickus on here had offered me his 1.4 GTI for free but i have had a problem with collecting the car and getting it home .Soooo now i am thinking a 2.0 veuxhall conversion because unlike honda the engines are nt that hard to get hold of for cheap. I am just thinking that there is no point in having a nice looking car if it doesnt have some thing half denent under the bonnet but i think some peoples views will varry!

I have been offered a honda prelude 2.0 for around £400 but i think that if i bought this my miniproject would fall flat on its face and the prelude will get all of the love, but i will have to see. At the moment i am leaning towards a vaux conversion....

Humm any ideas?

My idea is good luck getting insured on anything with a different engine in it.

You really need to look for insurance to see if you can insure a K series, Vauxhall conversion.

It would probably be as hard as getting insured on a 2 litre Prelude... Dont mean to *yellow human water* on your fire, but think about this cause it would be so gutting having done all this work and not being able to use it.

Insurance is getting crazier and crazier, especially for the younger, and male. And theres no wonder, some crazy statistic like 60% of all road deaths are under 21's.

Just think :(

I was quoted £1900 for a 1275 with the modifications diclaired and that was with everything apart from the shell being deaseamed. I then got on the phone today and have had a ring around and have managed to get a quote on a prelude to the same price as my mini from direct line. This is because they offered me the option of not using the car from 11PM untill 5AM which i did not have a problem with as i am not usually up that early or out that late, and if i am i will be staying there untill the next morning and this saved me 35% on my previous quote.

well where i have used the filler and then the paint stripper, i have sent the filler right down the toilet :) when we did it on my mates corsa it seemed to be fine and i am using the exact same filler and paint stripper so i think ill have to take it all out and start from scratch once i have stripped the paint off of the whole of the back end. I also used this paint on primer to pick out any imperfections which is being a right pain in the arse with the filler, Yeish!

I still need to get the conversion plates and a rear valance, I can also afford a whole new engine but my mums loan is growing more every day :)
