Hi people
My little car is a 77 Mk4 roundnose with a carburettored 1275cc power plant.
Being that my fuel gauge (like a lot of Minis) hangs around three quarters for ages and then dives for 'E' like there's a hole in the tank, it sometimes generates a touch of anxiety as to how much is actually in there when I glance down and see the needle has moved a long way from where I last saw it.
Just to add a bit of spice to life, my milometer does not consider that "consistency" is in its job description either and I have a recipe for the odd pause on the side of the road while I give it the contents of the four litre can I carry with me. For the same 10.4km trip, my odo can advance 4, 6, 6.8 or 8.5km......or indeed a few others in between, but that one I have a solution for.
What I am wondering is, has anyone in the forum ever retrofitted a tank sender with a fuel light? If so, what did you use? If you rigged up a fuel light another way, I'd be interested as well.
Many thanks
Lance
