I took the back seats into the shop today and painted them with vinyl paint, so they're now black, and look new! looking forward to paint!

Austin Cooper S badges came in, i'll have to test fit them to make sure that the holes line up correctly. no word on painting yet.

pulled out my bosses mini from the back, and he has a 3 point mini sport harness in it, and hedoesn't like it, so it's been donated to me! yay! i'll pull it out another day, its not an immediate necessity. just waiting on paint...

so i'm taknig the mini over to the bodyshop for paint on monday! getting funds together and such, very excited. hoping to finish it before out mini meet Sept. 12. Lots of work of course!

Thanks, its a labour of love. I got it ready today to take it monday. put on the boot, rev counter, took off the arches, put on rubbish wheels and tires. oh i had to modify the front arches (again) for clearance. went to start it up, and after much frustration swapped the starter. only took 15 minutes, had i known from the start would have saved an hour hahahaha she sounds sweet though! bodyshop is just down the road so i'm just going to nip down there in the mini can't wait, i have never driven her before!

Took her down to the paint shop today!!!! it was awesome, never driven her before and it was just awesome really. bit windy without windows no muffler and it was pretty loud too! hope it gets painted reasonably soon.

Well, bodymen being bodymen, it isn't painted yet, i don't think it's even been started unfortunately. In the meantime Dennis, a local mini nut who has 4 on the road and many more awaitng resto, has kindly donated a front windshield to my cause! which is excellent. and he also is going to end up with a spare set of front seats, which i'll have off him i think, as i need a passenger seat, and one day i may want a normal drivers seat too.

whoah whoah there Warren, watch the bodymen will be bodymen comments there! hahaha hopefully you can get it back in time to be able to take it to the mini meet... I will make an offer to give you a hand getting it ready if you get it back in time but i assume you won't need my help working with Ken and such but if you do end up needing my assistance just give me a hollar....

hahahaha all jokes but just ask dennis how long his 2 month spray job with Scott took haha. excellent finish though. I appreciate the offer, I will let you know if I end up in a crunch, but as you said I think between Ken and I we should be alright. I think the plan is to get the headliner in, throw in some windows and lights and a gas tank first, then do as much finishing parts as i can before the meet. I'll probably have to use the shop plate to get there though haha, no time to try and get it registered and insured.

well bad news, it hasn't been started on yet, so I won't make the mini meet. which is too bad, but i might a month of driving in before snow! we will have to see. I got a set of front seats, again from dennis, and i'll just put in the passenger seat for now, and if i ever tire of a race seat, can swap in the drivers too! thats all for updates though.

My brother just got back from a trip to japan...birthday pressies!

Minor update, dropped by the bodyshop and he has started working on the car! started on the bodywork, theres no rust repair to do but all the smoothing out of the roof and panels has to be done, and he is trying to tap out as much with a hammer rather than use alot of bondo, so I'm looking forward to the result! probably won't have it done before winter here, so there'll be lots of time to finish up for spring!

Last 3 days I've gone in to help with the prep, lots of sanding last minute filling, seam sealing, masking. We've got the whole car blocked and today the roof and arcehs were sprayed black, the doors, hood, trunk and grille should be done tomorrow and the rest of the body on wednesday. I'm excited! heres a few pics of the after primer prep.
