Went down to the shop today, painted it today! Looks just like I've imagined, I'm so excited! bringing it back to Kens saturday, to start the reassembly! Just in time to put away for winter

Yeah I was pretty pleased to finally see it painted. I'm taking her back to kens tomorrow for reassembly, just in time to store over the winter.

Couple more shots, put the doors and hood on and drove her back to the shop where i'll begin the reassembly. Getting her started after 3 months was an ordeal. first it turned over strong, but the floats were stuck on the carbs and fuel flooded everywhere. after i fixed that, it wouldn't turn over. then it turned over, but didn't fire. Ken came to check it out, and managed to get it started. we then made the mistake of turning it off to finish packing up all the other little bits. wouldn't turn over after that. So we push started it and got it home haha. I already replaced the starter once, but i guess its time for another!

Got the rear lights put in, had to redo a bit of wiring, and made up a harness for the front indicators, only got one in. heres some pics on the ground.

So i've got all the lights in it now, it took a while to get them to work, we had to jumpt he wire from the solenoid to the fusebox, have to figure out whats wrong there, other than that all of them work, except the indicators don't flash, maybe a flasher unit. Also got the muffler on, and the fuel tank is in except for the one bracket at the top that i have to search for. so progress is happening!

finally got the time to read it all through and uve done an excellent job mate but i hope my mini doesnt take as long as yours has lol and that paint job looks awesome! and i seriously wish we could get insurance that cheap over here cus if i was to get your daily driver as a 1st car, the insurance companies would crucify me lol but your nearly finished now so keep up the good work

Thanks man, I appreciate the feedback. I as well am very happy with the results of the paintwork. Insurance on the 240 was 1700 CDN a year, thats liability (covers someone elses damages in an accident) as well as fire and theft. thats around 750 pounds a year i believe. I sold it now though, needed extra money for the mini! I'll have new pictures tomorrow

Been doing little things, got the fusebox wire connected, i had just forgot to connect it, it was hiding up under the wipers. I've got the wheelboxes and motors in the car, putting the bezels on was a pain though as usual. took out the race seat and mirror in preparation for the headlining. Got all the rubber bungs in the floor, greased the suspension, oh and got the wheel arches on along with the sill trim piece. Unfortunately I didn't get enough rubber for between the arches and body so I've got to track some down, just lots of little things that i'm probably forgetting! Heres some pictures!

Yeah i'm really happy with the way it came out for me! I got the idea from a mini I saw in Miniworld, but I believe its close to "tweed grey". The paint code is JE46 from ICI Autocolours, though thats a company over here don't know if it's the same across the pond.

Got the rear interior in, trunk on, lots of little things, still need more arch rubber, but they're screwed on for now, got the grille on, badge on, it's progress!
