small update:

mini is now at its new home on our driveway thanks to a trailer used to move wheelie bins

spent some of the festive period getting the garage ready, stipping it out for new workbenches etc. still needs waterproofing with a new roof and a new door though..

santa was very good to me and i now have a home for 99% of my tools thanks to a big box, labelled "snap-on" :cool: (already bought a nice strong ground anchor)

not alot going on at the mo unti the garage get sorted, in the meantime found this pre-project vid... mmmm, straight cut gears and K&N filter..



note: no speed limits were harmed in the making of this video. half throttle and short shifting at 5k (max power @ 6.2k and redline is 7k). mainly to show noises produced.

i miss it..

moved the sprite into its new home yesterday even though the roof isnt fixed yet, noticed that rain blowing under the car had caused a few minor corrosion issues..

also started removing the doors, removed the drivers door but in typical mini fashion the last nut on the passenger door (the one at the top and hardest to get to) rounded off. found a new patch of rot in the sill under where the hinges are (great).

oh and finally took pics for those who wanted to see the doors.

how much did they set you back? did tehy come with windows?

yup, streetfighters. come with polycarb sliders but no fixtures or fittings etc.

£350 odd if i remember rightly?

Those springs are the sexiest bit of kit ive seen in awhile. minispares says they can dislodge if you hit a large pot hole in the road tho, hope you get on ok.

the way its going its only going to be a weekend/trackday car, although not sure how theyd dislodge if the suspension is set up correctly..

unfortunately not, im waiting on the landlord/property owners to replace the garage roof over the next couple of weeks then i can fit the place out with a workbench and toolbox etc.

then my current line of thought is strip it back down to the shell and get it painted (PITA since ive replaced the rear subby already) and rebuild.

but i need some cash also.

howdy mini is look in good!! what did you spray or paint the floor with?? and where did you get your roll cage and how much was it??
