not sure if it's been mentioned, but what colour are your wellers sprayed?
Love this car.

Nige, i've been trying to get her to take it up the strip for a while (hehe) but she's scared..
dog, they're a lovely shade of brake dust atm, hasn't been washed since last summer. But when they're clean they're just £5 can of steel wheel silver, more of a substance over style kinda person.

also decided to finally get round to fitting some adjustable shocks all round and hi-lo's on the back, will be dropping the car as much as as possible as soon as the engines back in. Might end up having to play with the exhaust though to gain some clearance so will see how it goes.

world record flywheel long jump?

trying to undo the pinion nut

just a handy one showing how everything sits behind the grille as a few people have asked me for pics of it.

and how high she sits normally

Finally found the limits of the std pistons at MITP last year, my boost gauge only goes up to 20psi and i had it wound round to the S in PSI at the bottom of the gauge. Result was lots of smoke inside the car, oil blown out of the breathers and a very very lumpy idle so that's at least one piston killed. Still not stripped it down though it's just sat in the garage since August.
The MOT ran out in September and the engine was very worn anyway hence my decision to put it out of its misery. Bodywork needs a full resto as I've just been patching it through the MOT each year. My garage has always been a bit too small and cluttered to do any proper work in so now I've cleared it right out and I'll start stripping the car down over the next few weeks to see just how bad the shell is.
Still not decided what to build as a replacement bottom end, torn between a 1380 or a high revving 1293 but I'll get the body sorted first before i worry about that..
How she sits at the minute when i pushed her out the garage earlier

And the last run at pod that finished her off. (even threw itself out of gear on the burnout)

As some will know I think i killed the engine at MITP in 2012, cab filled with smoke in 3rd/4th gear, heard a bit of det and got stopped at the end of the track for dropping oil.
It was breathing heavily by then anyway with how old the bottom end was so I'd just wound the boost up to see what it would take to kill it. Gauge only goes up to 20psi and it was somewhere around the bottom, way off the scale.
It was stuggling to idle and running real lumpy when i got it back to the pits, had filled the catch can and thrown it out of the dipstick, filler cap etc.
Got it recovered home and it's sat in the garage since then. MOT ran out a couple of weeks after MITP and it's a bit rotten so wouldn't have passed anyway.
Which leaves me here at the start of a full strip down and rebuild. Hoping to make some pretty quick progress the next couple of weeks getting it bare and assessing the amount of welding needed before i decide where to go from here.
This afternoons efforts anyway..

Pretty gutted about the lack of obvious piston damage. Guessing it'll be the ringlands that are gone but it'll be a while before i strip it any further. Want to concentrate on the body first.
