ooh thats nasty, one of the reasons i'm dreading removing my sills! Surely you would have seen that from inside the car though? Or is it under carpet?

Thats probably because its in the floor cross member. :lol: :-

yurp tis, only just pokes into the rear floor pan, worrying thing is that it is rot on both sides of where the cross member welds on.

is this going to me a hazard atall or structually determential to the car?

Not if its welded properly, as the car should be anyway :-

well i can jump up and down on the floor pan, and lets face it i ent a little one, so i think mine and my dads welding is okay.

well ill probably weld a patch in (seam weld) then another one over the top a bigger one.

ive been looking at your swift engine on a mini gearbox :P very intresting!

nope been fairly busy, eg wathing the tennis round a mates house and been doing alot of work in rhinos.

however im off all tomoro till about four so ill actally make some phone calls.

ive got a 940 casting head on the way, and im temped to buy the 1380 engine builder dvd, unless someone wants to let me borrow it ;D?

im gunna build the engine in a n/a setup initialy ive decided, so flat top pistons and a highly skimmed head is my next job oh and have it gas flowed.

again, what comp ratio you aiming for?

I'd personally still keep the SW5 in the game plan, it'll produce what a 998 needs (torque!!)

but in all honesty its gunna be abit much for the sw5

so maybe a piper BP285 or a cam with a 265-285 rotation


or a kent 649 however it picks up at 3k, so i have the feeling this isent going to be the one lol
