..... a picture of a front undertray laid upside down.

here you can clearly see how the undertray has the cutout to allow for the A series gearbox and selector to slightly poke through.

The fins are clearly visible around the front and wheels. This is to channel the airflow and reduce the turbulence caused by the wheels.

Yes they do look nice in British Racing Green (BRG). The factory one for showing is that colour and looks very nice.

Heres a couple of shots of the BRG one from the show.

You can see the undertrays on the wall in the background. I think there is a lot of scope for minis in this area for they are not exactly the most aerodynamic under the car.

hmm, sheet 1.5mm aluminum could make a quite good undertray

Yes I think ally sheet could make the start of a good undertray.

I would use a large sheet of mounting card (so usefull for templates) and work something out from that.

Hi the show that I was at was the National Kit Car show. It is held annually at Stoneleigh Showground beginning of May in Warwickshire.

You can still buy these cars at Alternative Cars. The red one was self colour, meaning that the colour is impregnated into the resin.

Here is the link

Kind regards,

card? naaaa just rivit it on and shape on car...perhaps not

i did a bit of ally work at college on a locost racer, making a curved bonnet was hard so that looks like a piece of cake compaired, we aso used card templates, id do it in sections for accesibility to different bits tho, say front section then a mid and a rear

....this was front cover of Car magazine, around the launch of the convertible in '89.

They look better in red I think.

....good idea doing it to get easy access.

The undertrays have to come off once a year for the MOT to enable the test to be carried out.

Not a big issue if they are fitted with decent fittings, like stainless captive nuts and button socket headed bolts (for reduced airflow...only kidding!) or dzus type fastners.

Heres the result of the Mira ECE30 crash test. Not bad for a composite car. I once heard that a couple of large well known US car manufacturers imported them to the US to have a look at as they could not believe that a composite car could be made to pass the test.

There was me, reading through... first thoughts, this bloke has too much money!! from which i deduced that he must be single and not have any kids or commitments and a huge disposable income... making me feel much more comfortable about 4th child on the way and a neglected mini rusting on the drive, then you drop the bombshell on page 4 that you are infact married with kids :teehee: where did i go wrong???

anyway, some very nice cars there!!! any chance of you copying the undertrays and selling them??? i really need (and i mean need!!) a rear tray with some sort of diffuser as my rear body kit got ripped off recently... and i discovered 10 mph increase in top speed.. so i'm also removing the rear valance but nees something to finish the ensemble.
