Depends where you get the tattoo.

To compare. I have a tattoo on my neck and on my spine. My tat hurt more than my peircings, and I have quite a few in quite painful places. But they don't really hurt much..

Ok, I dont want to get half a tattoo then decide it hurts too much haha

just trying to do research before I do anything - I always rush into things and things always get messed up!

The tattooist can use the needle on you without ink so you can get a feeling for how much it hurts?

My mates mum had one, she said it hurt, but i think hers was on the sole of her foot

A lot of tattoo artists wont do undersides of hands or feet, they shed too much and the tattoos fade too quickly. Everyone of my tattoos I told myself that it will be a long while till I get the next one, because of the discomfort. A month later, I am back to planning the rest of them, lol.

Our last tattoos was fun, the wife and me had them done the same day, and the tattooist numbed the skin with spray!! didnt feel a thing!!

wow, never heard of a numbing agent being used before. That would actually be kind of nice, though my wife likes the needle prick sensation.

i have seen it done on miami ink i think it was. the girl was in quite a lot of discomfort. but i suppose it all depends of your pain threshold.

if you want hard core tattooing how about this, my dad had his name on the inside of his bottom lip! over the years it blurred but was rather cool!

well if your worried about what it's going to feel like then get a small one done to start with.

that way if you don't like it your only gonna get 10 mins of pain instead of 2 hours worth!

My Right Arm was (!) a celtic band round half my arm when I was 18. Then thought it was way to small, so went to Skin Creations in Cardiff and asked him to make it bigger and go right around, so he just drew a tribal band covering the celtic band and then did it. Cost me £80. ( The celtic band is now inside the thick black centre part of the tribal band.

What surpirised me was, you know the way you pinch the back of someones arm it stings. I thought the back would sting, but it didn't, the front did. Apparently its because theirs less flesh on the muscle at the ffront or something ?!?

I went into six chinese places first to ask what it said / meant before I had it done ( without telling what it should say ).... just in case they said it meant " chicken fried rice, peas and chips ! " and they all confirmed it was right. So was happy.

But know someone that had some vietnamese ( i think it was ) written on their arm and in chinese it means swollen testicle ! lol

ive got both my feet tattoo'ed, they were fine, only hurt when it goes down to your toes and to the side, but the healing is pretty quick and i love mine
