A little more cheerful, although I abandonned her on the fellas drive last night as shes still not starting when shes cold.

Still seem to be having a problem starting Lily when shes cold, although I think ive mastered how to do it now! I think the next step is to put the needle out of her old carb in her new one (as long as its not bent) and see if that solves the problem.

She also still has a little bit of a flat spot, but only every now and then and it normally goes if you stop for a minute then start her again.

Shes a funny one

Now im just trying to decide if I risk driving her to Malvern on Sunday

Ive got one breakdown cover that comes free with my insurance and I got a joint RAC account with my mum for when im driving her car, but it covers me in Lily too!

I think Malverns about 70 miles away, its just I have work at 7 in the evening so need to be back!

Ill have a word with Ron later, see if he fancies going!

Not really got any update, we didnt go to Malvern in the end, I drove her to the NEC on my birthday (the friday before) and didnt really feel confident driving all that way.

We had a look at the needle out of her old carb and it the shape resembles that of a banana!

I think im just gonna get her booked in at Aldon and get her rolling roaded and let them set her up, im just slightly scared about taking her again after last time, although it wasnt their fault!

I've been looking pics on the camera and found a pic and video from when the engine went back in, thought id show them!!

You could try hi-tech motorsport in cradley heath for a r/r, micks a top bloke and says hes never blown an engine up, really knows his stuff aswell considering the sort of cars he has in.

I think im gonna take her back to Aldon, the guy there seems to like her!!

Its wasnt their fault what happened to the engine, there was something already up with it, I just didnt know about it at the time, then putting the stage one kit on and getting her RR'd just made the problem loads worse. The problem was identified once the engine was taken apart!!

Ive been friends with Lily lately Shes been behaving herself and ive had a couple of nice little drives in her. Its so good to have her back on the road and when people say you wont want to drive a mini again once you've driven a modern car for a bit, they are lying!!

Right, took Lily back to my mates cause he wanted to check the head was torqued up properly cause shes leaking water out her head gasket

He tightened them and I checked just after and there was still water coming out, so I dont know if the waters still getting through or whether or not it was just some water making its way out after being tightened (I dont know if this is a possiblity, I just dont want have to change the head gasket! )

So, if it continues to leak the head will have to come off (suppose it gives me chance to finally paint it!) and we'll have to put a new head gasket on. My mate also said that shes misfiring, but checked her engine and its all running poifect

Still havent taken her to Aldon yet, need to save up the money as I decided to spend some money on me instead of Lily for a change, so I bought a new tripod!
