Reeties, my fella went and got the engine taken apart yesterday and sent the block off to be skimmed. Got it back this morning and now its being put back together. My mate is building up the block today, but needs to wait for the gaskets to come before he can do the rest. They should be here tomorrow and fingers crossed the engine should be ready to go in

Hopefully if there are no complications (but with it being Lily, there most likely will be ) she should make it to L2B. Fingers crossed!

I just want to thank everyone for their help and advice over the last few weeks/year. Its all mucho appreciated.

It looks just like Lily when I got her

I took her block down to my mates garage today along with the gaskets Id got The blocks all been built up and the head and gearbox are going on today! They just had to wait for me to take the gaskets down! There hoping to have the engine built up today, so hopefully we can go down tomorrow to get it in!

Ahhhh, good for you!!! No more leaks ...after all my fiddiling about wondering if I should have just driven lotti for the summer before starting my rebuild, would have been ace to go for a cruise in the countryside ;( ... very jealous!!!

heya salz sorry to hear shes playing up yet again! only lily would be that fikkle not had a problem with James since i bought him reali! apart from water in the dizzy cap! And hes done 98k miles!!! thers no hopfully about it she will be at L2B so that James can meet her! he now has black alloys and rear set of grp2 arches, front set will go on after L2B with his flip front, new black carpet set in the post so will be in by the weekend #fingers crossed# outside isnt looking as smart as the paint i have is a horendous match and sticks out so bad! reali could do with a respray when he is sorted out how i want him! but just had to spend 200 on an MOT bill so no money for that just yet! keep up the updates so i know if your making it! cumon Lily get better! lol

LILY HAS AN ENGINE! Well sort of...

I went down to my mates garage at 4 yesterday and didnt end up leaving until 4 this morning

But....we got the gearbox and clutch on the engine, dropped it into the car, got the driveshafts in, got the exhaust and carb on, gear linkage, starter motor, engine steadies and clutch slave cylinder.

We spent ages trying to get the engine mount bolts through the subframes but got there in the end. We also put the manifold in as we dropped the engine in, as we struggles trying to get it down last time!

So really now just need to get the radiator, alternator and everything else in and get the old gal fired up!

I popped down yesterday on the way to work and everything is back in the engine bay The fella spent all of yesterday working on her!

Hes had to go down again this morning, so hopefully she'll be being fired up this morning! Is it normal to be feeling this nervous?!
